New Orleans shop with no humidor?

A couple weeks ago I visited the Big Easy and had an absolute blast but I visited a few smoke shops and noticed none had humidors. I was just wondering why that is. Around here there are walk in humi's in shops but there the whole store was just filled with smokes. Was the whole store humidified? My buddy claims the humidity there is always right for cigars but that didn't seem possible as it has to get to 100% humidity in the summer. Maybe I was missing something :al:al:albut anyone know what's up with that?

What stores did you go to??
All of the ones I can think of (except one on Orleans Ave in the French Quarter) all have walk ins.

That sounds crazy, but it must work for them if they have been dooing business for a while. Did you buy any smokes, and if so how did they smoke?

JR in DC has no in-store humidor, nor does JR in Statesville, NC. The entire store is properly humidified. Having said that, I have no idea what the situation in NO is.

I can't remember the names- I went to 3, they all had good prices (like everything down there) I bought a few smokes and all looked/ felt good but the door was open and premium smokes were just sitting feet from this door. I haven't smoked any yet though and they have all been in my humi so I wouldn't know how they were but again they all seemed fine.

From cityrating.com:

Average Relative Humidity:
New Orleans Relative Humidity (Morning) 87%
New Orleans Relative Humidity (Afternoon) 65%

It never really hovers around 70% for any length of time but, seems like it could be worse.

Not that different from Havana.

Possible that the whole store is humidified.

My local B&M has big humidifiers and humidifies the whole store. They also have a walk in humi that has a slightly higher humidity, but the instore 60% works just fine for me.

French quarter shops have limited space but the others around town have large walk in humi rooms plus the store is kept humidified and boxes are on tables and cases.N.O is always humid but air conditioners which we use 9 months out of the year suck all the humidity out.So these stores run humidifiers to counter the a/c systems.Mayan import company is a great cigar shop and full of premiums,ie annys, opus etc and prices are fair too.It is uptown a few miles from the french 1/4 well worth a cab ride or trip if your down.

seen places in miami do the same thing. they say its not needed but i wonder if its 90 outside and the doors open will a beetle come alive.
