Ive been thinking about picking up a new cutter. Im very new to cigars so i thought i'd ask which you all thought was a better buy, one of the xiykar scissors or double blade cutters. Im thinking the scissors but would like some opinions. Thanx!:ss

I love my Palio.

Palio offers a nice smooth and precise cut, never tore a wrapper or had a bad cut with it, unlike when I owned a Xikar cutter. The scissors are kind of crappy IMO, my boss loves his - but I cannot get a feel for them. Try both and see which you like, that's the best way to tell.

If you want a Palio, talk to Mark at Cigarmony.com. :tu

I agree with Darrell about getting the feel for the scissors. I liked the feel of them alot. The Xikar MTX is well made for the money. A bit short on fancy looks, but it`s not a Palio.

:tpd: Palio Hands down!:tu:tu

Palio is the way to go. I have 2 Xikar's(both gifted), and the only time they get used is when I cant find the Palio. If you like to fool around with your smokes then the scissors are cool. Trim here, trim there, then chop the cap. But for the best cut, Palio wins hands down. Plus them make a dandy little cigar holder!:tu

I used a Xikar for a while, but when I got my Palio I never looked back. The Xikar is a great cutter for sure, but the Palio gives the best cut hands down.

I have a Xikar Xi1 and I liked it, but the more I use it, the more irritating i get at it. It's great for the smaller RG cigars, but the 50RG + I like the guillotine. Jump right to the palio IMO.

I have 3 Xikars and love them.
Had a Palio and didn't like it. It struck me as a highly over-rated piece of plastic.
It did nothing that any of my 10 or 15 cheapo guiolltines didn't do, had ridges inside the finger holes that were sharp, and odd pieces of plastic left from moulding that shouldn't be there. It didn't deliver a smooth action and had a "click" when it came together. It reminded me of a cheap Chinese knock-off.
The Xikars actually feel like I'm getting my $40.00 worth.
