Newbie Taste Question

Chubno

Let me say first, I have a lot of learning about cigars. Ok, I'm ready for another lessons from you all.

I have been trying some differnt cigars (very good thing) and have noticed that some cigars give me a lot of after taste but others very little. What is the difference? What causes the after taste? (i'm not sure what words to use, sorry)

Thanks for your help

CHubno, I think what you may be talking about is the finish. That is how long a cigar's flavors stay on your palate. If so, there are a lot of articles about short and long finish out there but personally I believe it to be a combination of the nicotine/tar buildup at the end of a cigar and the flavors that are present throughout the cigar just in how they linger. Let me know if this is more of what you meant.

Yes, I believe it is. I've had a couple of cigars that I could still taste after two daysa and some that it was gone and out of memory in a couple of hours.
