Cigar Whisperer
The FREEDOM to breath act passed both houses and is sitting on the Govs desk for him to rubber stamp as soon as he gets back from his opening fishing photo op (hope his hands don't smell fishy). Hey but there is some bright spots to the FREEDOM to breath act..The first one listed is,,the ban does not cover private homes,, well I for one am grateful that the FREEDOM to breath act doesn't come into my home YET.. The only other bright spot in the FREEDOM to breath act is you can smoke in tobacco shops..(might lead to some creative businesses opening soon)

Well now blue cross and blue shield will save all that money spent on bartenders and waitstaff tipping over from second hand smoke.

Jerry (still smokin) in North Korea....

This is just getting ridiculous but didn't you know, the name of the country is changing from United States of America to United Socialist States of America.

God bless the USSA.

Sorry for the extreme sarchasm but I'm just sick to death of watching our rights slowly being eroded away. Well, maybe not that slowly anymore.

The Guv in Illinois will follow suit and sign ours too....I think there will be very few states left very soon. Sad indeed. :2

that sucks, i'm pretty sure they're trying to pass one of those in michigan too. i go to michigan state but i've taken classes at lansing community college and they're a "smoke free" campus. which is a joke everyone smokes right outside of the buildings still, hell even the security guards/cops smoke right outside of the buildings with the students

I don't really smoke anywhere that a bill similar to this would affect me very much.

It wasn't very long ago no one believed there could be a smoking ban in Vegas either, no place is safe! Anyone have a copy of the Denis Leary rant from the movie Demolition Man? :sb

Until they tell you you can't smoke, period. This is the attitude smoke nazi's rely on. If you want to give up your liberty, go ahead. I will not bow down that easily.

You are all welcome to NC where we defeated the smoke nazi's, for now! :tu

Yup...give them an inch, they will take a mile...and they are already about 7 blocks in. :2

Sometimes I wonder if we're not in the early years of making the switch over to communism. Democracy, What's that? I don't know anymore.

I'm the kinda guy that likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecue ribs with the side-order of gravy fries?" I want high cholesterol! I wanna eat bacon, and butter, and buckets of cheese, okay?! I wanna smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the non-smoking section! I wanna run naked through the street, with green Jell-O all over my body, reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly may feel the need to, okay, pal?

I love that quote. I often use it for my signature. I wonder if I could get it to fit on a bumper sticker or a t-shirt. hehe.

Thank God the State of Wisconsin has a better and smarter group of both voters and lobbyists telling our government how to work...thank you Tavern League...

This raises another question for Minnesota residents...when is your state gonna change its flag from blue to Communist Red...

The "state" of Minnesota is not exactly a free place to live anymore...especially with the new proposed income tax....you might as well move to Wisconsin...you will make more money....

My thoughts of retiring in my home state are decreasing every day. Please say it isn't so in the Land O Lincoln.
I can't wait for the legislation that bans outdoor smoking within 50 ft of an animal, plant, or mineral.

While I really, really hate to see this kind of :BS happening anywhere, I guess there are some benefits to living out here in Montana. There's a hell of a lot of land where you can go w/o someone telling you "NO!". I live in Hungry Horse, which is unincorporated and the residents are very independent-minded. We come under the jurisdiction of the county, and the Commissioners are too busy worrying about subdivisions and meeting Federal regs on damn near everything to be bothered with anything else.

Smoking in the bars?? I really don't know the state laws on smoking in bars, 'cuz I haven't been in one in more years that some of you are old.

You are witnessing the Socialisation of America. What will you do about it???

Man sounds great except where the hell would I work :). I don't see much IT jobs up there.
