Not excited about Padron 1964 anniversary-only one?

I've got one of these in my coolerdor. I'm going to have to try it tomorrow night when I have more time to sit and contemplate the world. :)

I will agree with others that almost every one I have smoked has been perfectly constructed, and actually felt on the solid side to me.

As my tastes evolved, I found the 1926 Natural to be more suitable for my palate. Excellent cigars, though probably overpriced by comparison.

Well I followed it with a La flor DL and I loved it. The 1st time I tried it.

One of the strongest features of the 1964 is an amazingly long finish--I swear I could still taste the last one I smoked two hours after I finished it. Since I loved the taste I would not want to have another smoke afterwards.

I have noticed some difference in these cigars lately. I recall them being fairly dense and heavy in the hand. I recently smoked one in a blind taste and really wasn't a fan. It felt underfilled and burned really fast. The flavor was nice, but not as I remember. Had the nice Nicaraguan flavor, but had little complexity.

I wonder if the blend has changed? Perhaps Padron has changed something. For the price, this was not as enjoyable a cigar as it had been in the past. :2

It seems like you might have been expecting something else in the way of taste from it. If you were expecting a lot of spice and pepper, I could see where you might be disapointed. It is a very rich smoke that is well balanced with some pepper and spice. It's smooth from start to finish with a chocolate or espresso like flavor that makes it an enjoyable smoke. I find that a nice bourbon or rum goes real well with the PAM 64. :2

Consider it a blessing in disguise. One of the great things of having such a wide variety of smokes available to us. What you may like I may not or vice versa. I happen to love PAMS but absolutely hated the few Serie Gs I have smoked. It would be boring if we were all forced to smoke the same thing. My rule of thumb usually is to give every smoke a few tries before writing them off though as taste can be effected by many things including mood so definitely give them another shot. I would also try the natty as there is a difference in taste but if you decide you don't like them, well again consider yourself Lucky.:r

BLASPHEMY!

Just kiddin.
Which one was it? For me, the Principe has the most flavor although I have not tried the 40th and 80th.

:tpd:
Pincipe is the most flavorfull one for me also. I love the X000 series in maduro, but the nat. Principe is DEELIGHTFULLLL:tu

I thought I was blessed in not liking the Padron 1964 Anni. I had a couple that just didn't do anything for me. I smoked the Monarca maduro this past weekend and I was amazed how good this cigar is. It has a very unique cocoa-tea flavor with a twang. Hard to describe and very unique. I can hardly wait to fire up another. I should have given them away while I still had a chance. It's not too late for you, just remember how you don't like them and pass any you acquire on to a fellow gorilla.
