Oasis humidifiers...

Well, I have 4 humidors, but the largest one I have is only a 50-count. I was thinking I need to get at least a 150-count one in order to make the Oasis doable.

You could go that route, but I have a 150 ct., and my 65% do the job just fine and are not nearly as pricey....

bama,
I have the CO XL and use it in a 100 count humi. I couldn't be more pleased with its performance. It will season the humi within 24 hours (max); maintains consistent RH VERY well (my house currently is at approx. 19% RH and the CO has no problem keeping the humi at 70%); the CO brings the RH level back to the desired level extremly quicly after you open/close the humi (unlike the humi-tubes and humidipaks that I had previously tried - they took quite a long time to get the RH levels back during these dry winter months). Note that I never tried the beads - so I can't speak to their performance (although I am considering them as a means to remove any excess RH that may build up during the warm months).

Can't go wrong with the CO.
Hope that helps.
Kevin

My brother tried beads and they didn't cut it (he followed the directions). So for christmas I got him a Cigar Oasis and it solved his low humidity problems. If your climate is dry then the CO is the way to go. If you have a humid climate then doing something with beads (since the absorb humidity as well as release) might be your better choice. Some people use beads and CO. I just use the CO since in AZ it's just too dry, even during the Monsoon.

Ultimatly I don't think you can do wrong with a CO.

I have nothing but positive things to say about CO. Performance and fast recovery coupled with the stability I need to know my collection is safe if travel or other things come up.

In summary. Best money ever spent.

I use a CO XL and 65% beads combo in my cabinet humi. They work great together. I set the CO to 68% and the RH remains constant within 65-68% range, just the way I want it.

I've used 65% beads for a year and just switched to the Cigar Oasis XL for my Footlocker Humi. While I wont argue the fact that beads will somewhat maintain humidity....I can tell you that I spend way too much time staring at my remote hygrometer and have observed the RH go up and down quite frequently while using beads. Nothing too crazy (+/- 5%) but up and down none the less. Since I started using the Cigar Oasis my RH has been rock solid steady at 67% (my current setting). I also find that the Cigar Oasis brings the humidity back up very fast after opening the humi. I'm sure that other people that live in different climates get better or worse results from beads. But as for myself, I am very happy with the steady humidity I get from the Cigar Oasis. Just my :2

I also have a CO now and it does recover quite fast when humidity drops. These things are adjustable so if you like 65%RH or even 63%RH for that matter you can just press the buttons. So far, I'd recommend it.
