Igloo? Beads?, Kitty litter?, baggies? what? need a quick answer.

Personally I would recommend a tupperdore. That way you will always have it available for overflow just in case. Mine is a 12 quart Rubbermaid and I think cost less than $5. Unless its extremely dry or humid where you are, they'll probably be ok in a tupperdore until you can get some proper humidification.

ok, first of all, you don't have to many cigars, you just have to little storage. That is easily solved with a coolidor and then you start saving for a more permanent solution like a cabinet or a vino.

BLASPHEMY!!!! there is no such thing as too many cigars:ss

You obviously haven't talked to my wife, as much as I love her we disagree on this point.

As for storage, I second the tupperware recommendation, if you're worried about humidity pop down to the local B&M and they should have something like a water pillow that can work on the short term.

:tpd: There's also a product out there called SnapWare that works phenomonally well. I was in a box pass recently where it was used to store cigars during shipping, and it performed like a champion.

When I found that I had too many cigars (a very subjective term), I would spend lots of time on cigarbid looking for deals. Whether you are over your capcity by 10 cigars or 100 doesn't really matter in the end. You need extra storage. Go big. Go crazy. You will soon exceed that capacity too.

I have found that when I run out of storage, it is time to make up a nice package and send it to one of the nice folks that handle cigars for the troops. They never have too many cigars and it lets them have an hour of the nice day that we can enjoy due to their efforts.:ss

Always a good solution to the "too many cigar" debate

Ditto the cigars for the troops idea, and also the tupper or coolerdor solution. I now have two coolerdors as well as 3 humidors(circa 300/500 count) and everything is fairly full- altho I do like to keep some semblance of order therein and not just pile cigar upon cigar. Might as well go to Wally World and get you a big coolerdor- you'll end up needing it sooner or later anyway. For emergency use, just put the stogies in a plastic zip-loc type bag with a damp(from distilled water) paper towel and do not let the cigars and the towel come into direct contact! Enjoy the precipitous slope, my friend!

Yeah Taltos, That has been on the back of my mind and it's time to bring it to the front where it belongs...thanks

I was looking around the house and saw I had an unused 16 qt igloo, and some snapware also. so I am running out to get some pillows now.
BUT...what about that special of Greycliffs 1666 on sale.....noooooo must resist.....resistance is futile.............ughhhhhhh

Thanks all I have really enjoyed the info and camaraderie here... this seems like a mature and enjoyable board.

Is an 'imitadas' Cohibo an authentic Cuban cigar? Just curious....

Sorry just the "Legal" ones for the States  I havn't had the pleasure of a cc even though I have been smoking cigars for the last 20 years.....(on and off) I finally really got bit by the bug... and am really learning about the cigars themselves now... and enjoying it very much.

You obviously haven't talked to my wife, as much as I love her we disagree on this point.

It sounds like you need a little wife advice as much as you need storage advice.

After you solve your storage problem you need to work on a long-term wife propaganda campaign. First I recommend downloading a bunch of articles on last year's proposed SCHIP (federal taxes on cigars) and adding them to her reading list. You can explain to her that the President that vetoed the bill is a lame duck and very high cigar taxes are a real possibility. Conclusion: you must buy as many as you can now!

Get yourself a huge cooler and empty boxes from the B&M and you will be set!
