Well like the ACID line you will notice they are Varnished with smelly stuff.

Really I have no idea........

Yes - it refers to if the box is left plain or a varnish coating placed on it.

you'll hear it alot when people refer to Partagas 898s
because the varnished (6 3/4x 43)is a totally different size to the non varnished(6 1/8x 42)
