SilverBack
A special-aged sun-grown from the Oliva family.
The Special ‘S’ is an attractive handmade that boasts a silky sun-grown wrapper grown in Ecuador. After fermentation, this choice leaf is aged in Spanish cedar for a minimum of 5 years, adding rich layers of flavor to this (already) robust and flavorful piece of tobacco. Chock full of Nicaraguan Habano long-fillers, Special S is a complex, full-bodied premium loaded with rich, creamy undertones backed by a pleasant aroma.
Found this beautiful smoke in the bottom of my humi today and decided to light it up. Sorry, I can't seem to recall the age on it, but it has rested at least 4 months at 65%/74 degrees. This was the Diadema from CI that is rather expensive at $200+ for a box of 20. RG 48X7". Initial pre-light aroma was wonderful with a sweetness & touch of spice. Initial draw & burn were perfect and even. I noticed a slightly sweet flavor with a touch of spice that persisted throughout the 1hr. smoke. I had no burn or tunneling issues that I had on occasion with other Olivas. It was a very good smoke, IMO, rated 8.5/10. I still prefer the Oliva "O" and "G", however, at a much lower price and equal, if not better, flavor & aroma. Anyone else tried these?
Thanks for the input!
