Does anyone know of a business called
Open Water Custom Framing and Fine Cigars in
Walker, MN.

I received a letter from the State of Missouri saying I owed
them $8.50 excise tax for cigar from this place. They say
I purchased $85 from them on April 30, 2002 and I have not purchased anything from Open Water in Walker, MN.

Any help appreciated!!!
 
I figured it out. When we purchased the Club Stogie custom banded cigars last year the invoice said that I received 4 bundles and I only received one. Minnesota has it down as 4 bundles for a total of $85.00. One bundle would be $21.25. So I owe the state of Missouri $2.12.

It cost them more than $2.12 to send me the letter and collect the tax. Actually it cost more to send the letter than the original $8.50 that they wanted. Totally wasting tax money trying to collect this.

I talked with the owner at Open Water and he was very nice and together we figured out what this was.

Sooooo, if any of you receive a letter from your state dept. of revenue wanting excise tax you will know what it is for.
