Operation move that cabinet humidor.

Craving GOF
The mission: move this cabinet humidor ( http://www.clubstogie.com/vb/showthread.php?t=160125 ) from Seattle, Washington, down I-5, to Sacramento, California.

Should you accept this mission you will A) be helping not one, but two BOTL (the buyer and seller of the humidor) And B) you will have a chance to meet and possibly Herf with another C.S. BOTL.

If you read the thread above, starting at message 17, a BOTL (groogs) said the following.

"I would love to buy that small cabinet. There have to be some BOTL's from Seattle to Sacramento, that can do a Humi Pass. If we can string together some people that will transport it like 30 miles apiece I am sure we can get it to Sacramento. Even if we can get it to a neighboring state I will come get it. A BOTL can wish. That is a great deal, somebody better snap it up."

I'm willing to pick up the small cabinet in West Seattle and take it through all of Washington's highly congested areas (ie. Seattle, Tukwilla, Federal Way, Tacoma, Olympia and Chehalis) and deliver it to a restaurant called Spiffy's @ I-5 and Highway 12 near Winlock Washington.

Is anyone else along the I-5 corridor up to this mission?

Thanks for your help.
Ken

This is gonna be a tough one to put together.
I sure hope it works out, I'll be hugely impressed. :)
Good Luck Ken!!! Beautiful Humi!!!

dunno if it will fit in my backseat, but if so, maybe we can meet around Centralia some place. I'm going to SoCal, so have to drive right through Sacramento...

It may be too wide to get into the back seat, but I'll measure tomorrow.

WOO HOO!!!!

Thanks Mark!
It will be good to see you again. By the way, I hope to have something for you.

It measures H31 x W23 x D15.5

If it fits, this will have to be some kind of record @ 6 minutes:chk:chk:chk:chk:chk

Thanks again
Ken

Just measured - looks like it will fit with ease. How does next week look for you? Can you do mid-week? We're doing emergency response drills (earthquake) this week, so I'm pretty well tied up.

Tuesday and Thursday are not good because of A HERF and a meeting in Seattle, in that order. I could skip the HERF, but Charlie might think I'm avoiding him:D

I need to get with Joe and arrange a time for pickup.

Thanks Mark, I think we can handle the rest via PM.

Have a great week.
Ken

This place is amazing. I was half joking when I made my original post, I never though it would happen. I guess you have to be carefull what you say around these Gorillas. I have sent a PM about the cabinet and payment. Thanks for all you help with this guys, I will definatly be sending some thank you bombs on this one.:tu

Damn that was fast!!

Hey Ken, looks like I'm going to owe you that fiver.

That really was fast.

I hope Mark and I hook up on a sunny day so we can have a mini Herf. I don't know of any indoor smoking places south of Tacoma.

groogs/Grant, your gonna like Mark. I was lucky enough to meet him last week at the Smokey Joe's Herf.

Mark, thank you for making this happen.

Take care
Ken

Is this cool, or what?
I got my first access to 'buy and sell" recently where I initially saw this thread.
And now people have stepped up and made it happen in a very short time.
What a community where this request comes together so quickly.
You guys truly put the B in BOTL.

I'm happy to be of service. enjoy that humidor.

You will like Mark, he is a great gorilla.:tu

Take care

please keep us updated,

How cool is this, a little different than a PIF or a random bombing, how generous.

Zoomschwortz, and vstrommark this was very kind of you guys! :tu

I've heard of Dog rescue..where they transport rescued dogs from state to state to the new owner with legs of 1-2hours at a time...but humidor rescue sure takes the cake!!

Every once in a while, something like this comes up that is way too cool. :D

Please, take pictures of as many places along the way that the humi will travel... from Seattle to Sacramento.

This has all the hallmarks and is destined to become a classic CS thread...:tu

Is this already taken care of? I'm heading down to Seaside, OR in 2 weeks, and would be willing to take it as far as 50-100 miles south of there on I-5 to help out. I'll be leaving on the 18th of this month. Let me know if that's of any use in this mission.

Thank you very much for the offer.

It looks like we have everything covered at this time. I will be picking up the cabinet this Saturday and will then hand it off to vstrommark next week. Mark will be doing the bulk of the driving taking it from Washington and delivering it in California.

Weather permiting (I don't want to get the cabinet wet) I'll snap some pictures of the cabinet on it's first leg of it's journey.

Take care and have a great week.
