Padillia Obsidian

Are these right off the truck? If so, a lot of vendors "ship wet." What's your humidity? If too high, the cigars will "tighten up" and affect the draw. Alot of gorillas will "dry box" their cigars hours/days before smoking to drop the humidity to lessen draw. I have to do this with Partagas Classicos sometimes.

Actually, the best I smoked were the first one or two. They've been sitting in my coolerdor at 70% for close to a month but I just freed up enough space to move the remaining fifteen or so into my 250-count which is at 65%. I'll give it a month before smoking any more - lots of ITs, RPs, DPs and Gurkhas to tide me over. :ss

Finally had my first one. Man, what a great smoke. A bit of a slow starter but an inch in and it's fantastic. Really enjoyed it. Glad I got quite a few left. :ss

I smoked one to the end recently. It overpowered me at the last 2 inches and I went into the woozy zone...

Had my first from a month-old bundle today. Still pretty wet and green. Not a bad flavor. They just need 5 more months like Yayson said earlier in the thread.

Very good review!!! And I would concur with those who recommend aging these sticks. After smoking one greenie, mine were laid to rest for about 8 months at 70% RH. They mellowed out into a heady, but very enjoyable smoke. I've found that dry-boxing them for a day improves the burn.

I had my first one tonight, courtesy of Danzig (thanks bro!), who PIF'ed me one in mid-December. Wow! Much better than I expected!
No burn problems whatsoever & the draw was perfect.

Taste-wise, it reminded me a lot of the Carlos Torano Exodus 1959 (my favorite), with its predominant coffee and deep dark chocolate, but a little more pepper and not as much cedar. I'd say it is stronger than the Exodus, also. This baby kept my attention for 2-1/4 hours before I put it down.

I'm glad I jumped on the latest (ongoing) CBid Special of $39.95/20-pack.

Highly recommended at the CBid price of about $2@. For those who like the Torano Exodus or the Rocky Patel Vintage 1992, jump on this one!

Good review! I stocked up on these as well. Considering they have that "barnyard" smell to them from a previous post I did, well, what can I say, this is another that smells like "crap" but tastes really good! :ss

I love these. But you have to let them sit. I have about a fiver left and I am going to try to get a year on them ‘cause I really like them.
