I was wondering if anyone had had "Nicaraguan BP - Padron Anniv Alt" from TNTcigars.com? This is suppose to be similar to padrons' anniverary cigars. The price is right at $45.00 for a box of 25 torpedo maduro 6.00 x 52. Any input would be appreciated.

Thank you Rack04. Being a noob here there is so much to learn and to explore on this site. I didn't even know about "The Stogie Review". It answered my questions about the TNT cigar.

Don't mention it. Glad I could actually be of some help for a change. I've been wanting to try these but buying a bundle of something I'm not sure to like doesn't make much sense to me. If only I could find a five pack or even a single.

They sell these in a bundle(25). they carry different sizes and in natural and maduro. Come payday I plan on ordering 2 bundles.

Well my last post doesn't make much sense. I just visited the website again and they do have 5 packs. Though $15 for 5 doesn't sound near as good as $40 for 25.

your are sure right about that that is a little bit of a rape

these are tasty smokes, and worth the 15 just for giving them a shot BECAUSE TNT will usually give you free shipping on your whole order with a purchase of the 5er, therefore it helps to bring down the overall cost.

The reasoning of the 5 packs costing $15 dollars vs the bundle is because we have to open a bundle and pack in in bags of 5 plus with free shipping costing US about $6 - $9 dollars we usually break even or sometimes even lose money on those 5 packs, we set it up however because many customers wanted to try 5 before buying a bundle The bundle is obviously the most economic and best way of purchasing which is the way its intended. just wanted to input that. If we sold them for the same price as bundle (per cigar) we'd just be losing significant money left and right.

I found the Padron Alt to be not bad....it's no Padron...but it's got some of the same flavor characteristics....

I said some....as a good cheap smoke I keep a few on hand...but as a good cigar...it's average at best.

I havent had one but from what I see the price is right for a good cigar...I have checked them out and they are touted as an ALT. to the Padron....not a replacement...just my :2...not worth much!!

This is a good value smoke, can't beat it for the price. However, I find it misleading to say they taste like a Padron. I have had several just to experiment and one did not draw worth a lick very unPadron like.

OK, my five pack of the "Nicaraguan BP" arrived today. Let me begin by stating I've never smoked a Padron Anniversary, so I can't compare this smoke to those.

Nice oily wrapper and very nice construction and appearance. Prelight aroma was pleasing, no barnyard or ammonia detected. Clipped the head and the draw was clean, after toasting the foot the initial taste was very nice. A little leathery maybe and very rich, but on the mild side. The first third was very enjoyable, though it did have a bit if an uneven burn that didn't self correct after about three quarters of an inch, so I burned it off and it seems to be doing OK in the beginning of the second third. I'm impressed so far, enough to already be planning to purchase more, but want to try just one more before hand.

I stated earlier that I'd not had a Padron Anniversary. I have, however had several Padron Londres as well as a couple of the Padron 3000 M. I'm particularly fond of the 3000 M and will continue to sample more of the Padron line. With my inexperienced palate I can see how this could be compared to a Padron in a general way. If I were offered this or a Padron, I must admit I'd opt for the Padron, but if I'm buying, these are good enough to sway me so far.

Nearly to the half way point I had to correct another uneven burn of about a half inch. Both times it's happened at a rounded point between two of the "corners" from the box pressing. I'd guess from an air gap there where it didn't swell enough while smoking to make contact and burn.

I should probably mention I'm enjoying this with two bottles of what is labeled as "natural spring water", though what I've been reading of late regarding most bottled waters this is most likely not the case. I'm enjoying it so much, I'm having difficulty resisting more frequent draws. Seems to be getting a stronger, fuller flavor now with a slight hint of sweetness, maybe mocha or a nutty flavor or both with a very pleasant after taste. Getting to the last part of the second third and I'm still very impressed. Thinkiing I should have gone ahead and bought more than the five pack.

I've been smoking my "mistakes" lately, the "Oricinal Cubans" I got from Cbid. The good thing there was that at least I didn't pay the regular CI price for them. When I can't stand to smoke those, I've been alternating with either a Pirates Gold or preferrably a Flor de Oliva. In my opinion, this cigar puts them to shame, though less so the Flor de Oliva. Perhaps my taste has changed somewhat, I used to really enjoy the Pirates Gold, but lately they've just not been giving me the same level of satisfaction.
Now beginning the last third and I'm already dreading the inevitable end. Still a bit of an uneven burn, but now it seems to self correct better than previously. Still very much an enjoyable rich thick flavor, plentiful creamy smoke and pleasing aftertaste with a slight tang to it that seems to be slowly increasing in intensity. It's also remained very cool to the touch until the last two inches or so, where it began to warm up a bit, but didn't get hot yet.

I suggest this cigar to those who are not bothered by the politics of TNTCigars touting this as a Padron alternative and are looking for a what I think is a very good less expensive smoke. It's worth every penny right down to the nub in my opinion.

guess what, you just sold me =] TNT should be proud ;)
- just a thought, if your ever thinking of getting a box, but still dont need the whole 20+ etc, id be willing to split the cost with ya for a 5er, or even 10-
S.T-
id just like to add when i started i LOVED these super premium 2nds from CI, just wondering if anyone new how they ranked up with the TNT padron any line-http://www.cigarsinternational.com/prodDisp.asp?item=CS-P2A&cat=3&h1=1

I got my 5 pack a few days ago and although these are very tasty cigars, they are NOT Padron Anny's and I didn't expect them to be.

I would probably order another 5 pack or even a bundle, but personally found a little similarity in the two cigars, but was not thinking I was smoking a Padron.

For me, the draw and burn was the biggest indicator that it wasn't a Padron, then the midway point didn't have the taste that I am accustomed to.

Again, well worth the 3 bucks or so I paid per stick and an interesting smoke.
