Padron Delicias Maduro

If you haven't guessed from my other reviews I'm a fan of Padron. And this cigar is the reason I'm hooked on 'em. It isn't an $8 stick, not even $5. Costed me $3 each if I get a box, $3.15 or $3.25 if I get a single one from my local B&M. For the price it's difficult as heck to beat. The price also throws you off since it smokes better than a lot of higher priced cigars I've had. Anyway, onwards to the actual review.

At first glance it isn't nearly as pretty as the Anni line, but the well rolled veiny wrapper still looks nice. Let one of these age for a couple months and it'll get a nice little oily sheen to it too (if you don't smoke it by then). Smells like a Padron should: rich tobacco with more than a hint of cocoa and coffee. Cut it with a double guillotine and take a perfect prelight draw and find that it tastes just like it smells: cocoa/coffee. On to toasting it with a butane torch and lighting it.

I should note, this is a smaller cigar compared to most others. It's shorter at 4 7/8 inches and has a ring gauge of 46. Because of that I find that if I take a huge deep puff it'll burn hot and get a little bite from the smoke. However, take it nice and easy and you'll get a good mouthful of thick smooth medium bodied smoke that tastes like sweet maduro with cocoa and coffee. It's like that the entire way through, and seems to get sweeter the further down you go.

This isn't a complex smoke, in my opinion. The flavor was very consistent and dominated by the cocoa/coffee mix and made sweet by the maduro wrapper. I've yet to smoke one of these that burns uneven or has too tight or too loose a draw. Ash averages an inch at least and usually an inch and a quarter before it drops. It's a good smoke for the money, and my go to for now. It isn't as smooth as an Anni, but isn't too far behind. Gets an 8/10 from me.

I reviewed the Delicias Naturale a little while ago. I am also of the opinion that it is a very good, inexpensive cigar. Thanks for your review. I will have to try the maduro now.

Love theses also, and the Londres Maduro, for the price, it's unbelievable. I buy these by the box sometimes just cuz I'm bored and know they are delicious. as the name implies.
