Partagas Black

Young Chimp
So i've had a couple partagas blacks and i had one last night that just wasn't the same tasting?
anyone else enjoy these smokes, because i'm not sure if there supposed to be smooth like the previous ones i've had

One of my favorites! Smoked probably 20 of them and only had to toss one. That was because of a very hard draw, rolled very tight. After messing with it for 20 minutes (with 5 relights) and not even getting through a half inch I tossed it.

I bought a box of Maximos and most of them had draw problems. I have one left, and I don't plan to buy any more. I think the flavor is great on these smokes, but after all the draw problems, I have been turned off the Blacks.

They're one of my favorites, and aside from an occasional tight draw, they are very consistent, especially flavor wise.

I keep a large paper clip with my smoking tools just for that purpose. A couple of careful pokes and the draw problems are fixed. It only takes a few seconds, and the flavor of these makes it worth it to me. I have to do it with about 2 out of every 10 of these.

Ouch, that sucks. It's usually about 50/50 for me. They're pretty cheap so I guess you're not really paying for quality control...

The draw problems I had with the PB's dropped dramatically when I started storing at 65%.

I started with the Clasicos and now smoke mostly Bravos. They're great!

I agree, I have only had one. I couldn't keep the thing lit. Really liked the flavor though.:2

I'm just about through a box of the magnificos and they are one of my favorites. I haven't had any draw issues at all with any of them. I keep them around 65%, so that may be the key. It does seem to be a pretty thick wrapper.

I have a draw poker that usually fixes the problem, but the fact that so many sticks out of a single box had construction problems, I won't waste my money on the Blacks any more. I keep my cigars at 65%, and I am sure there is a chance I just got a bad batch, but I will spend my money on better smokes in the future.

I like them from time to time, but it's been a while...maybe three months. I'll have to have one soon.

Never had a draw problem. I've gone through at least 5 boxes. I did have one box that had a salty taste. Those took a long time to go through. I didn't buy another box until I'd had a couple at local b&ms and determined it was just a bad box.

See now this is when we need a poll. Draw problems scare me. I wouldn't mind ordering a 5er to test this brand but signing up for a draw problem cigar is not something I am interested in doing.

They are still worth a try though. Grab a couple to try out. I get five packs of the Classico from JR for around $15 every couple of weeks when I drive over there. Can't beat the price for this cigar.

They are definately worth a try. I get the maximo's for $5 a stick, and for that price not much else can compare. But as for the draw problems, that happens to me with other more expensive smokes. I always keep my henry's tool on hand :D
