Perdomo Habano

Going Commando
Had a great weekend with my son's first birthday going on. Had a party for our family and spent a great day by the lake smoking cigars, eating BBQ and chipping golf balls into the lake (they were range balls, not titleist). Anyway, I wanted to try something different and I had a Perdomo Habano in my humi so last night before I watched the final Yankee Game, I grabbed a book, a Heineken, and this beauty.

The wrapper looked and smelled great although I saw a few small sunspots on it. It clipped nice and neat and was ready for toasting. The first smell was a hint of cedar and roasted nuts, very pleasant. The cigar drew well and had a razor sharp burn from the beginning.

Getting through the first third of the stick was nice and it evolved into a fuller bodied smoke with hints of leather and white pepper. The thing i liked most about this cigar is although it was fuller in body, it was not overpowering and the subtle spice never went beyond the middle of the tongue. May times the spice rolls to my throat and is uncomfortable.

All in all this was a pleasant smoke, took about an hour and a half and was a great way to peacefully close our a hectic yet enjoyable weekend.

This is my first post, hopefully it was informative without being too long winded. I took one pic with the cell phone for everyone to see, hopefully it attaches.

Great description of a great smoke.... I have really taken to the Perdomo Habano Corojo these past few smokes. I had a Lot 23 yesterday, not a bad smoke, but not as good as the Perdomo Habano Corojo.

I ordered a fiver and the first one tasted quite young. I think I'll give these a few months at least. The corojos are good from the get-go IMO.

This will sound wierd but the Corojo was both smoother and spicer than the 23. The 23 had a bit of the "tobacco" taste, which I don't care for. It's a good cigar but the Corojo is just better.

I will fess up that I love Cameroon and Corojo wraps. Cameroon mild and tasty and teh Corojos just seem to have a little extra pep for the smoke.

what do you think of habano wrappers or jaltapec maduros? any favorites?

My shop-Vino and Stogies in MN-just got these in a 7x60 "Gran Torpedo". It was a great smoke-now if only the baseball game would have been as great. Nice review.

I can't say I have specifically heard of the Habano wrapper and I know the jaltapec maduros is a new name to me. Maduros are ok, and the only maduro I actively seek is one of the Camancho maduros. Fantastic smoke! I've had 3 people give me 3 names for it so I'm not sure what it's really called but i know where to buy it.

Wheww... Glad that sounded ok. When I was typing the description it sounded contrary to me. I grabbed an Olivia G for a smoke tonight... All this corojo talk has me wanting a Perdomo now.
