Perdomo Reserva Cabinet Cameroon

Smoked one last night, great milder type cigar if you have never had one. While the smoke and flavors were awesome, the wrapper completely blew apart from foot to cap as I was smoking :( It's about 2 - 3 weeks from cbid, didn't seem too wet or dry and felt normal. Hate when that happens, still damn near nubbed it though :)

I know Bobb and I cried when we found out it was discontinued..the La Tradicion Perdomo Reserva Cabinet Cameroon will be no more....

I'm smoking a robusto as I type. One great cigar. Have smoked over 20 of these and while the wrapper is thin I have not had a problem. Hated to see it cut from production!

I recently tried my first PRCC and enjoyed it. I would buy this again if they continued to be available. Can't say the same about the Champagne I also tried. I was not impressed.
No wrapper problems.

The cameroon was the only one i disliked out of the entire LT line. I love the sungrown and the maddie. I have a few boxes of SG's but might need to pick up some more maduros.

I spoke about my theory in another thread (below)...But I find it hard to believe that Perdomo would discontinue such a great line.

If Perdomo doesn't give the current line a face lift, which I suspect will happen...what could he possible have up his sleeve to replace it with? Both saddening and exciting all at the same time I suppose. On the other hand I love the Lot23 and the Habano line but don't think I can live without my Cabinet Cammies.

Im hopefully doubting Perdomo will discontinue any lines. I think Nick is simply going with a visual overhaul, basically a new face for his line. I think well see some new labels and different packing on most of our old favorites. I too am a Perdomo slut.

Just my though.

I saw that too...I think/hope hes trying to sell out the old stock. Then Bam!!! check out the new line. Same cigars...new look...Like i said though its just a hunch.

Has he never heard - If it aint broke, don't Phuck with it! The Cabinet bands look great (I like a good looking band), the sticks are visually appealing, and best of all - very tasty.

Honestly I'm not too surprised. Of all the perdomos I have smoked, and I love perdomo, I never did like this blend. It just never seemed to have any cohesion to it and didn't taste like anything special compared to the other Perdomo sticks I love. :tu

I still might pick some of these up just becasue they are being discontinued... ya never know... If I forget about them for 10 years maybe they will be awesome... :D

I'm smoking one of these right now and I usually find them to be enjoyable without any construction issues. Shame if they do get axed imho.

After reading this thread I shot off a quick note to Perdomo to get the 'offical' word, not that S.S. here doesn't always have great info. :)
To my surprise, they wrote back in less then 10 minutes with the following:

Good afternoon. There are some truths to what you heard. There has been a change to the La Tradicion line in that the Cameroon and Sun Grown have been deleted and there has been a blend change to the maduro. The line is now called Perdomo Reserve 10th Anniversary. The line came out in 1998 and we are celebrating its 10th anniversary with some changes. Again the Cameroon and Sun Grown have been deleted from the line. We have had a blend change on the maduro and have made it fuller bodied and much more flavorful. A new wrapper in the line is the Criollo. Criollo is a Cuban seed wrapper just like Corojo is, but with different flavors. (also it tastes nothing like the CAO Criollo that came out 5 years ago) Our new Perdomo Reserve 10th Anniversary Cuban Criollo is a medium bodied cigar with a fantastic balance to it. The Champagne has not changed at all other than receiving a new band to commemorate the 10th Anniversary. The sizes and prices are the same as before and are as follows:

Figuardo
Robusto
Epicure
Churchill
Torpedo

I hope that this helps and if you have any questions, please let me know.

Well I'll be damned... I need to get some before they go the way of the dinosaurs.

It is always nice to have some stuff that they don't make anymore lol... :D

I just chekced CI and noticed that the newer blends are making their way into the lineup... if you want the old ones I suggest getting them soon as they will be gone!

Glad I picked up the Maduro perfectos when I did since they axed those year ago! :D

Blame all the lame management classes I've had to sit though over the years. Why work with rumors when you can base opinions on facts. :cb

The Habanos are still being kept the same if I read that post right...which is good because I think the Perdomo Habano Maduor is out of this world GOOD! :D

I find this line from the e-mail weak_link very very very very funny.....
"(also it tastes nothing like the CAO Criollo that came out 5 years ago)"
