With all this Pepin talk going on I decided to order me a little Tat. and Cab. sampler to try. I ordered a few of these little guys and tried the first last night.

This little fellow didn't disapoint. A tasty earthy smoke and at $3.00 is a good buy.

I like to think of it as the poor man's( and law abiding man's) Trini Reyes.

Believe the hype.
 
Do these come in boxes of 25?
I've looked around and found cabs of 50 and fivers but no boxes.

They only come in cabs of 50, so if you buy by the box, you can get them for around 2.75 a piece. I enjoy smoking these on the way to work, however, I am currently out of these little guys.

These are mighty tasty smokes, but IMO are rather expensive at $2.75. If they were just a little cheaper they might be a good everyday short smoke. They have some solid construction as well.

For me, I enjoy these a lot so I have no problem paying this price, but for some people, why would you pay 2.75 for a cigarello when you could get a whole cigar (bundles or on cbid) for the same price.
 
I love these little guys as well.... perfect flavorful little smoke... when you don't have a lot of time.
 
I almost bought a box of these blind from newhavana (deal on 3 free Tat blacks and one extra suprise was too good), but after the order was placed, I requested my order be switched to the Petit Cabaiguans (prefer other Cabaiguans). They complied, but I was interested in what I missed out on so I bought one at a B&M a few days ago.

The first few puffs (after smoking a RASCC) were just like black pepper. It was like they rolled the cigar, lick the end and dip into a plate of cracked black pepper. :r After the intial onslaught (really tongue burning pepper), it calmed down and only occasionally did I get a slight pepperiness. The rest of the cigar was good, strong flavor, but not very complex. I couldn't help but compare to the Hoyo du Maire, which is a much better stick IMO(but mine have some age on them), because of the size. Maybe some age would help these to mellow a bit and show some more complexity, but they were decent as is.

Hopefully I will enjoy the Cabaiguans more, and having 50 will allow me to age a bunch for sure. Overall I would say the Petit Tat is a good straightforward smoke for those that want something with strong flavors, some spice (pepper), and with a short smoke time.

How is the strength of these guys...med or full?

This thread inspired me to finally smoke one I picked up last month. Pretty darned good little smoke. I think I prefer the Camacho Corojo Machito, but this thing is nice. :tu
 
I enjoy both the petite havana and petite cabiguan. I agree, they are a bit pricy for the size, especially for a dollar more you can get an angeles.
 
My box is now about a year old. These just keep getting better and better.

They are mellowing just enough to take the edge off and the flavors are getting more complex. The aroma is off the charts outstanding.
