Question about shipping lighters

I was able to pick up a nice Dupont lighter at an authorized dealer at the Korea duty-free shop and brought it with me to Russia...

Question:
If shipping a lighter (via DHL or UPS from Russia), do they scan packages to detect hazardous materials?? I"m not sure whether it's riskier to ship the lighter back to the States or trying to carry it onboard back to Korea then back to the States.

Advice anyone?

Ya you can ship them,but like they said above make sure all fuel is out.

I think you would have much better luck shipping the empty lighter than trying to fly home with it.

Empty it and wrap it up you will not have a problem.

Just be sure it is empty.
