Question - Indian Tabac Construction

I've read a number of good reviews here and elsewhere about Indian Tabac cigars. Yet on the Famous Smokes website there are a number of negative reviews about the cigars unravelling, poor caps, stems, etc. What has been your experience? The sound like a cigar that has good flavor and fits my budget, but I don't want to throw my money away either. What say you?

well i had one of these last month that a friend gave to me. we sat in my backyard and smoked. it tasted good but about half way though i felt light headed (usually i get light headed towards the end of a strong cigar) but i kept smoking it. by the last 4th of it, i felt that it was too strong for me. so i pitched it and went to go to the store with some of my buddies, as i was in the car i felt nauseous and felt like i was about to blow chunks. i never felt like that after any other cigar i smoked.

i also find it kinda funny because me and my buddy were talking about this today and he tried another one and said that half way through he pitched it because it was too strong(he smokes more cigars than i do and 90% of them that he smokes are full-bodied):2

I love them and always have a box or 2 on hand.

Like any cigar you may find a bad one here and there.

Construction is not a problem if you ask me :tu

A decent smoke, the ex fuerte maduro. But there are many more good cheap smokes. Check out TXMatt's cheap smoke thread, lots of good stuff there.:tu

I've got a bunch that I'm slowly smoking through.

While I feel there are better cheap smokes to be had, poor construction hasn't been an issue.

I've ordered three 5 packs within the past four months from Famous and I don't recall any construction problems. My only problem is letting them relax in the humi for a moment! I enjoy them better after at least a couple weeks of rest.

def. agree with super fuerte in the maduro. I prefer the corona the most and then the belicoso, but either way a lot of great flavor for the money. I have never had a problem with construction or flavor with these. Burn issues, yeah but I never give a f*ck about that anyway. Pick'em up.

I had issues with the wrapper coming unravelled as well. It was the only one I have tried, and it turned me off on the whole line. I'll probably revist, but I'm not in a hurry. :2

I've only had 3-4 of the ex fuerte maduro toros so far, but I haven't run into construction issues yet. Very good cigars, esp. when you consider the price range.

IT Nonpareil, poor draw

I have several Indian Tabac Nonpareils in my humidor. They have been there since last fall. Only about 1 in 3 smokes well. The others are wrapped so tight they're worthless which is sad because I really like the flavor of this cigar.

Re: IT Nonpareil, poor draw

I've never seen that problem with Indian Tabac...and those are one of my favorite brands.

To answer your question - no.
I have smoked a few boxes of these over the years and I have not had any problems, maybe a burn issue here or there but I would have to attribute that to my lighting methods or humidity.

As andrew says these are made by Rocky Patel - I believe them to be a quality stick for the price, are they the best overall cheap stick? Probably not but they are a good, consitent stick IMHO.

My fave everyday smoke is the IT Super Fuerte Maduro....I have gone through about 200 or so in the last year....only had one issue with a damaged wrapper peeling off....I would hafta say I'm a big fan of IT smokes...i think i have about 4-5 different kinds on hand most of the time...

Thank you for the feedback gents. I think I'll look for a deal on a 5 pack and give them a try. I appreciate the help!
