Question on CBid shipping

I bid, and won, a 5-pack last Tuesday night (the 21st). I have it setup to ship weekly. My understanding was all auctions won would ship the following Thursday, which in this case would have been the 23rd. I got an email last night that it was shipped yesterday (the 29th). Is this normal? Just wondering.

Thats a good question. I am wondering where my shipment is as well. I won an auction on the 25th and 26th and I selected daily shipping. CB grouped them together which is nice but stuff usually come from CI in about 2 days and I still haven't gotten anything from CB. They just charged my credit card on the 28th.

This is my first bid and win so maybe thats just the way it works.

When they started using DHL, shipping (to me) went to hell and I stopped using cbid. I waited a week while the package was on the truck and the bozo didn't bother trying to deliver. Yeah, I really want beetles bad .. can you leave the package a few more days on the truck just in case?

Well, I'm glad to see it's just not my shipping they suck at! I'll have to keep that in mind for future auctions. Thanks for the heads-up.

This does seem unusual.
While I am not a big fan of DHL (they screwed up bigtime last year on delivering cruise tickets!), I have been receiving my CBid shipments regularly and on time without issue. Maybe I have been lucky. :2

Amen to that. DHL forced me away from cbid as well. Besides bad delivery service, I had one driver hit my mailbox. They really suck.

I have no problem with CBid delivery, as a UPS stockholder and a son of a Postal worker, I hate DHL (most of its owners are foreign AND they are non-union) besides they suck.

CBid is the great Satan, but soooo atttractive, must resist :p

I thought DHL was boughtout or a subdivision of the USPS. I could've swore that a friend (postal worker) told me that. I'll have to ask him again.

Well, I sent a message trying to find out what the deal was, so we'll see what they say.

I love how the DHL deliveryperson leaves my packages out in the sun, when you can walk 5 feet further and set it on my doorstep in the shade. :BS

I should put a sign out in front of my house (since I'm a regular CBid "winner").

I have not had any problems getting my packages once they have been shipped. It has been easy to track them on DHL and they have gotten to me timely once they were shipped.

I have noticed that they are taking longer to get the shipments out. So the delay seems to be on the Cbid side. I would guess that it is from the volume that they are doing. It has kind of slowed down my bidding as well. That's what happens when you have a popular site.

Cbid is not very good with delivery. Its not dhl, dhl delivers excellent in norfolk, va. Not being part of a union weeds out the crap workers I'm sure.

I had problems with DHL too, on a cbid shipment. Tracked it to their local warehouse early on a Thursday morning, should have been at my house that afternoon (I'm only an hour away from that warehouse). DHL held it Friday & Sat. I got it Monday afternoon after Cbid rang their arses after I rang CBid's arse. The service rep at cbid informed me that USPS, FedEx and UPS were shipping options they had available if specified. Don't know if it costs extra or not. Cbid did say that if I was worried about the smokes due to heat, they would replace the shipment, no questions asked.

I think the problem lays mostly at DHL's feet. Maybe if enough of us file customer service requests about DHL's poor service, Cbid will seek another shipper? CBid was prompt in their actions when I made them aware of the problem, So I give them high marks on that issue.

I won a 3 pack of Macanudo 1997 vintages, #3's. After I won, they called and said they were out of the #3's, and would replace it with a 5-pack of the same smoke, of which ever size I wanted, for same bid price. Of course I chose the larger churchill size (# 5, I think). Have to give them good marks on the customer service they have given me.

I've only used CigarAuctioneer and they ship via UPS. I've always had good Service with CA. Unfortunately, alot of other people have found out about them too and the deals just aren't what they were 3 or 4 months ago.

Well, I received my cigars today. (Friday) I also got an email from their customer service that said they shipped them last Thursday USPS Priority, but due to the USPS's tracking system, it didn't show up as being shipped until the 29th. I always thought Priority mail was 2-3 days, but who knows. Either way, I got them.

Must be nice. I won my auction a week ago now. Still nothing.

For what it's worth. A friend of mine owns an A-1 Postal Solutions and he told me to never use Priority Mail. He said regular delivery is as fast or sometimes faster and cheaper.

Glad you got your cigars. It is a puzzling situation. I haven't had a problem w/my C-bid shipments. The only issue I've had w/DHL is their tracking system seems to be down half the time & they always seem to deliver a day early to me, which makes it hard to slip by the dragon (til I started getting shipments dropped at a business in town ;) ).

I have bid at CigarAuctioneer once & had no problem with that.

It appears you changed your shipping prefs. within a week of winning that auction. From this point on your shipments should ship on Thursdays. I order quite often from them. They have switched from using ups to using DHL. I live in CT, my orders usually arrive on Monday mornings. If you have any more questions about Cbid just let me know, I have been using them for a couple years now.

Well yesterday at about 11am I got an email from Cbid saying that my shipment was on its way. At about noon my mail lady came with a box. Sure enough it was my Cbid win. So finally I have it.
