This is pretty simple. I have a some sticks looking to do some traveling, sow their wild oats. There is also a Sandbox Raffle going on right now being run by Fred. If you have a link to the sandbox raffle in your sig good things might happen. If you buy raffle tickets even better things might happen. :ss It could be you.

i remember how getting letters and packages would make my week when i was in. on subs you were given 8 family grams per 3 mth deployment that you could give out, each family gram had 30 spaces (words). that's 240 words for a three month period. maybe if we were lucky we would pick someone up and that person would bring a mailbag with them. so i know what it's like to be 800 ft under water not knowing what day it is or what the real time is or what's going on back with no way to communicate. if this helps get Fred, Tony, and David a few extra hits for the sandbox it's worth it.

Thats ALL you are allowed to communicate with your family!?? 240 WORDS every 3 months?? YOU USED 137 in the message you typed!! Maybe I am getting it wrong, but thats a damn shame. When I get my paycheck I will do what I can.

Everyone come home already and have a lobster dinner and a smoke, on me!! :tu Maybe not everyone but a few is ok!

let me clear that up. they can send you 240 words total, in 8 letters of 30 words each total. you can't send them anything back. my wife had to start making up words combined from 3-4, she wouldn't use any vowels. then the radiomen would spend two hours trying to break the code before i could have it. she was so good at it they thought it was some kind of kgb encryption.

Haha thats pretty funny!! Do they still do it the old school way? Like a guy with a headset listening to morse code and writing the words down and then sending them on to you?? I would assume you can't get any messages 800ft below SL. But I would hope they have some newer technology than what I described above.

Don't mean to steal the post here....just interested.
 
i put some names in a hat last night and had my son pick some out. three bombs went out today with 5 more lined up as soon as i finalize some addys. after that who knows what will happen. :ss

This is cool. I'm buyin' some tickets tomorrow, but the prizes don't mean much - it's mainly what rrplascencia said. That's just sad.
 
Thank you for the kind words but this is only to help Fred, Tony, and David raise some funds for what they do. These are the guys who have truly immersed themselves with this undertaking. So keep posting let everyone see the link in your sig to support our men and women (especially that really cute one with the gurkha). :dr
 
Not looking to have my name pulled out but I wanted to say to please support the troops as much as you can. I'll have to check the latest count on the raffle tickets. They do an amazing service and I really appreciate what they do to keep this country the "Land of the Free".
