ok so i just took up cigar smoking. when i told my wife i was ready for the nuclear option... :c
instead she just asked me to not do it around the kids or in the house....
what has been your experience with this? good bad ugly...leats hear it.

My vote is "good". She's accepting of your hobby.
"Great" would be a spouse/SO who shares the passion.

My wife has no problem with it but she is a mild cigarette smoker. Her only comments are where in the house I smoke and what kind of ventilation I use. But at least if yours hasn't demanded that you never smoke (and become one of a small group of closet smokers). Hey, you got your foot in the door.

She locks me in the computer room when I begin to make an assortment of pleasurable sounds and simple statements that resemble mental illness to the uninitiated. Wait.. No, that's why I took em up in the first place. Did I mention she looks good smoking a lancero?

Well I'm not allowed to smoke in the house! So the wife said lets take out a loan and build you a smoking room Two months later I have a converted garage with insulated and sound proof walls, a wide screen TV with theater Sound, Leather couch two leather Chairs carpet, AC, Heat, Exhaust Fans, Maxim girl pics, And a kegerator.

So her response was GOOD

My fiancee whom I live with just purchased me my first humi. A very nice looking, 100 count cherry wood with a birdseye maple insert. I'm a lucky man.

She tolerates it as long as I reserve it only for special occasions. Birthday's, herfs, in celebrations of a good exam grade, etc..

the absolute BEST reaction EVER, is when people walk by you and see you smoking a stogie, and they start to cough and try to fan the smoke away from their face, EVEN WHEN THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKE ANYWHERE NEAR THEM!!

I find this to be hilarious, and sometime imitate them as they walk by, as if i am choking too!! they dont like that

I am in the same boat. I just find ways to make every occassion special.

Most people I know don't have a problem with me smoking because I gave up cigarettes when I started and they're happy about that. They do think I'm crazy for the way I've taken to them and the money I spend. :)

I love it when the annoying-as-all-**** lottery players come into the cigar shop and start gagging from the giant smoke cloud I've built up.

DIE GAMBLORS DIE! Or atleast just buy all your tickets at once, not in 40 installments over the next hour.

I'm lucky... and have a "great"...my GF has her own humi stocked (by me) with DE/RP Java's, CAO Eileen's Dreams, and Kahlua White Russians...I sit out on the porch every night and have my nighttime smoke and she joins me, and we chat about the day (great time to communicate), and once or twice a week she lights up one of her own to add to the enjoyment...to make matters even better, when we pop over to Starbucks to have coffee some evenings and I bring a cigar to smoke as we sit outside, she has me bring one her own and lights up there too...and blondes just look so hot with a cigar in their dainty paws...we get dirty looks from the women and jealous stares from the guys...I love it...

sweeeeeet :D

hmmm how to convert my wife?

As long as Croatan opens our patio door so that the living room doesn't get too smoky, I'm mostly cool with him smoking in the house (it's actually a condo, and the ventilation can be hit-or-miss). Once we live in a larger place with better ventilation, I imagine that he'll smoke inside more. Whenever we are out with friends, no one usually minds him smoking - everyone accepts it as a part of him. :D The only thing I DON'T like is him smoking in bed, which thankfully he never does! I'm sure that if he started doing it though, getting him to stop would be like trying to put toothpaste back in the tube! :hn

When in doubt thats always the best option!.......no complaints! :z :w :z :w
