Recent Trip to Fuente in the DR

Cigar Man Andy

Young Chimp
Hey Gang,

Just got back from the D.R. Great weather and a great time. We had the pleasure of meeting Lucy, Carlito's assistant and Sam Mendez. Carlito Fuente's right hand and the manager of the A Fuente factory in Santiago... He gave us the VIP tour of Fuente. I have several photos posted @

A lot of myths busted and a lot of respect for Carlito Fuente... "We will sell no cigar before perfection". Thanks Sam.

PS on the way out, Sam brought me 10 Opus X as a birthday gift. Oh yea Opus fans... He also gave me a BBMF... Much Love

Andy

Wow, what awesome pictures. hope you had a great time (you need a sledgehammer to the head if you didn't). How did they roll those experimental ones, did they show you? I'm drooling on the keyboard right now. Thanks for sharing.

The funny thing is that we met the master roller who did those but didn't take the picture. I just kept say " I'm not worthy, I'm not worthy" We saw them roll various Fuente, VSG, Hemingway, Don Carlos, Diamond Crown, Anejo and Opus X, but did not get the chance to watch him roll the special wrappers. We were invited back anytime we want, and maybe then we can see him in action.
Much Love
Andy

NICE PICS!!!! That's actually where I'm from. My family lives in the capital in Santo Domingo but I have aunts and cousins in Santiago so whenever I go up there I get a few things.

Looks like you had a blast though.

We were staying in Puerto Plata at the Riu Bachata and our driver took us to Santiago. Plenty of pictures though.
Thanks... I mean Gracias...

Thats pretty freaking cool. Are you in the cigar buisness or are you just a cigar fan? I always thought about a vaca in the D.R. and visiting a tabacco farm.

SWEET.... :dr:dr:dr

That looks awesome and it sounds like you had a great time. Thanks for sharing the pics! :ss

Looks like a great experience!! Sweet pics too...you even got to see the room where they have all of the experimental/fun stuff. Can you imagine smoking that football. :ss

Both. I love cigars and had the opportunity to meet Benji Menendez and Carlito Fuente when they where out here for an event. I then started thinking about getting into the business. I hope to have the shop open before this Christmas.
