Results I got , now who wants to Volunteeer

Hi, I put up a thread last week, for suggestions on smokes that won't take me an hour to 45 minutes, I find my self wanting a cigar somtimes at night while still in my car, but do not feel like staying up another hour or more and allso dont want to start a stick that will take so long and then need to shut it.

Since I'm no expert on Cigars, I would like to know if there is some one that might want to monitor this thread and do the research and make a complete list of Short smokes only and maybe we can get it up as a sticky. I think if we can get the times from people that smoke short Cigars to tell aprox how long it takes to smoke would be a great service.

I like this thread a lot, thanks. Like you, I'm trying to select some good short smokes. I realize that they are short-fill, but when you live in a cold-weather state some compromises must be made. In the winter, I smoke nearly every night in the hot tub. The auto-cycle is 45 minutes, and that's about how much one can withstand before becoming water-logged. So, the smoke must be nubbed after that amount of time. So far, you've got a pretty good list. I know that some of these are only available in quantities of 50, 100 or 200, so if anyone would be interested in splits we might be able to work that out. PM if interested.

I don't see Camacho Corojo Machitos.

Those have all the power of the big boys and are one of my favs.

Atlanticcigar has good prices on 'em.

I'm thinking about your question, and have some ideas with a couple of caveats. First, you don't mention country of origin, and I see that the ones you've mentioned are NC's, not sure if you are deliberately restricting yourself. Second, it looks like you want something that you can comfortably finish under 45 minutes. In part, that depends on how you smoke. I know people who can make a PC last over an hour, and others who will finish it in 30 minutes, we all have our own styles.
That said, some recommendations:

Padron 64 Principe
Party Short
ERDM Lunch Club
Trini Reyes
RASCC
Siglo I
Dip/Monte 5
SCDH El Principe

I think these all fit the general bill, hope this helps.

I really really REALLY like the Montecristo Platinum Belicoso #2. They come in tins of 4, and can be had for around $10/tin on the devil site.

This thread is about SHORT SMOKES. The Monte PB is a 61/2x52 Torp, while it may be a good cheap smoke. I dont think that fits the OP's needs.

Check out TXMatt's Cheap smokes thread. Tons of great short smokes.
LVH Early Years Silencio
Don Kiki Brown Botello

I will add
RP Sungrown Petite Perfecto
Tatuaje Petits
LFD Chiselito

They're actually quite short at 4.0" x45. Good for about 20-30 mins. Here they are on CBID:

Now I need to learn some tricks from you how to get my RG up :)

Seroiusly, you can try the 5 Vegas Miama PC's. I get though them in about 20-25 minutes (I am a fast smoker). Some feel the PC's are the best of the marca anyway.

I am always disappointed with short/quick smokes. It doesn't even feel like I am really smoking a cigar. It is like a mule. Not quite a horse (cigar) and not quite a donkey (cigarette). It is just so unsatisifying. At the end I still want to smoke a cigar.

I can tell by the weight and the size approximately how long it will take me and I get it pretty close almost every time.

This is a pretty common question it seems. I wish I could help. This is a complete side-step but have you ever considered a pipe? You can get them with pretty small bowls that wouldn't take more than a half hour or so to finish. They are also pretty forgiving if you don't always finish (after it is broken in).

Here's some that I have acquired for the upcoming winter hot tub season:

CAO MX2 Daggers, Italia Piccolos, Maduro Petits and Cameroon Petits

5 Vegas Shorty Torpedos

Vigilante Petit Corona Corojos

Hoyo Excalibur Minis

H. Upmann Demi-Tasse

RyJ Petit Belicoso #2

Sancho Panza Matadors

From this list I've sampled only a few so far. The 5 Vegas and Vigilantes were very good. The Upmanns were acceptable in a pinch, but I wouldn't buy them again. I'm trying to use the good weather for my larga cigar vitolas now, but I'm not dreading winter like I was. :ss
