Ripped Off..What should I do?

Sorry to hear about this. Don't lose your faith in these guys or in mankind in general. It's the internet, this stuff does happen. it doesn't excuse it but it does happen. If after all this PM your name & address and i'll totally sign your up for wierd porno promo's! j/k if nothing else i really don't have the time to personally ship from my stock but, I will buy you some nice sampler or something and have it shipped to you. If nothing else this guy could've done that if he didn't have the time himself to do it. Hope everything works out for you. If not PM me and we'll see what we can do. I'm still the new dude here so if i'm stomping on somebody elses ground just tell me and i'll run back into my corner. I am only a young ape after all! :u

Sorry to hear that. At least you will learn something from this incident. There are plenty more guys on here that are credible so don't get your hopes up.

Hey, I've been on the receiving end of being accused of ripping somebody off. Sucks A@S for sure, but I had to sit back and analize my own behavior. While I wasn't posting or anything while not replying to PMs; I still really was never TOO busy to send a damn 10 second message. It is just too easy to fix this kind of thing before it gets ugly.

If he doesn't get the picture after you PM him with a link to this thread; I say out his name for all to see. If they plan to be here as a member for any length of time, they will either make it right or disappear forever ... either way, everybody wins in the end.

I'm all for giving somebody the benefit of the doubt if they've proven themselves to other long time members, but even that has it's limits. I, too would be more than happy to send you something. I'm going to the post office Tuesday. PM me your addie and I'll hook you up with some goodies.

Greetings Everyone. I have yet to read through all the replies, which I will do momentarily but I do however want to update you. Since I have made this post, I recieved a reply from this individual and he said that he is going to send me the cigars asap, probably tuesday due to the holiday. I'm really glad that he came through because I don't want to ruin anyones reputation as it can occasionally take some time for people to get stuff together. Glad to see how everyone jumped on this and tried to make it right, it really shows me that you all care very much about the reputation of this message board, I am very proud to be a member of. I am going to go ahead and read through all the lengthy replies now. Thank you all so much, this was a very effective way of handling this matter.. I guess we'll see how it ends when the cigars show up.. :)
 
Wow guys, I really appreciate all of your offers to send me cigars to keep up the reputation of the forum and this alone is all I need to be reassured. How fantastic that you all care so much! That is a characteristic of a truely amazing community! Thank you all so much, I will surely let you know how it all ends up when I actually recieve the package! I love trading and have been doing it for about 3 years now, however I have yet to trade cigars except for this one time. I am really just overwhelmed here with the spirit of this board, which is definately the best cigar based message board on the net, ever!

Since he did end up coming through, well at least he says he will I'll know for sure in a week or so, I will kindly decline the offers to make up for this but it did have a profound effect on my respect for many of the members here! I would deffinately like to get in on some trades sometime though to see what its all about.. I have a limited amout of smokes but I wouldn't mind trading 3 of my Carlos Torano or Indian Tabac Maduro's with someone, sometime so I'll either check out the trade forum or your welcome to PM me about this if interested.

Indeed, It is unfortunate that someone has to take these measures to cause a person to act. Really piss poor procedure for whoever he is.
 
I would have liked to have seen a nameless copy of all of the conversation/communication that went on accompanied by the corresponding dates. With this information at hand we may have been able to give more accurate advise AND we would be able to judge for ourselves whether or not the person should have been outed... and maybe still outed even though he came through yet at such a late date and with such drastic measures required.

If this is what it took to get a response after a whole month then I am still curious about who it is... unless there is a REALLY good and verifiable excuse, I would NOT want to trade with this person.

Heck... I would think that the person on the other end of this would want to out him/herself just to try and set the record straight or tell his side of the story. We're all human and we all mess up but as the saying goes...

Reputation is hard to earn and easy to lose.

I hate things like this. You think you can trust someone and they do this. It can make it hard for someone like me who is new and wants to start trading. I have seen this before in other forums it does not help the community at all. If you are here to steal just quit now. What do you gain a few smokes but you lose a lot of buddy's and a great community IMO. I say we all get together and go to his house, and smoke him out.
 
This is one of the reasons why I don't trade much. I'm always afraid that I'll get spread too thin & forget someone.
 
Sorry to have heard of your experience Entheomation, it does tend to make you lose confidence in things like this. This is one reason why I ask people o wait on sending me cigars when I trade for ashtrays. It can take 4-6 weeks for me to finish and ashtray sometimes and if things are busy, maybe even longer.
I really don't feel comfortable having someones cigars and i'm still mucking about trying to finish an ashtray.

As Iceho said though, well done on the way you handled the situation and I hope it has a pleasant ending soon.

Well guys this whole experience, despite the initial delay, has been fantastic for me. Shit happens, people get busy and forget things.. but the kindness and goodness that seems to be entirely absent in the "real" world is highly appearant here in GorillaVille. The attitudes and willingness of the members here to help out someone like me, a newbie with little reputation and less than 150 posts, has really made my experience here more than enjoyable!

I recieved the package today. I truely wasn't expecting it to come but likely due to some silly error with mailing rather than that of his own fault.. Well, today I lit up a Savoy natural Churchill by Ashton put a leash on my dog and walked down to the mailbox. The mailman was right down the road, making his way up to my mailbox as Yopo and I patiently sat, enjoying the smoke at hand. That experience alone was fullfilling enough that I didn't care if the smokes didn't arrive today. Sure enough, as I heard the "clunk, clunk, kerchunk" of a package in my slot of the community mailbox I unlocked it only to see a nice sized envelope sitting there. "Thats all" the mailman said in a monotonous yet highly threatening voice as some political program discussing nuclear war blared over the government issued radio in his anxiety inducing vehicle.

I was very content. I opened the package up to find 3 H. Upmann Tubos and 2 Rocky Patel Connecticut (what look like) torpedos in a ziplock bag with a humidification device in it. Very cool indeed. Thanks mystery trader, whos name I will protect since you did come through and I don't want to defame you. but above all,Thank you club stogie. Now, its time to smoke!
