Rocky Patel Decade Robusto

Boomer

ChestBeater
I just tossed what was left of a RP Decade Robusto over the deck railing for the raccoons to finish off. It was probably one of the prettiest cigars I have ever smoked. The wrapper was absolutely flawless with no veins or spots, and perfect color. The pre-light aroma was earthy with some hint of grass. The pre-light draw was smooth and easy. The smoke was perfect with an even burn and a light gray ash that didn't hit my lap for about 2". The cigar burned dead even all the way to my knuckles without a re-light. Billows of smoke on each puff. The cigar was medium bodied with some early spice notes but settled into a smooth cool smoke for the remainder. I don't do a lot of reviews because I cannot pick out flavors like vanilla, coffee, cumquat or other things, but this was as close to a perfect smoke as I have ssen in a long while. Very enjoyable. I would give it at least a 94.:tu

Congrats on finding a great cigar. I just finished off a box of these...while they were enjoyable for me there are probably 2 or 3 RP smokes I like better.

i recently got a sampler pack with four of these and four itc 10th anneversarys and after reading review i really want to have one. and i agree about how good they look, i just they made one with a smaller ring guage.

I tried one of these last week and was very impressed. It was almost exactly as you described it, great all the way to the end

Great cigar but then again I haven't found an RP that I haven't liked. That being said I agree, the decade is an un-befriginglivable smoke. :tu

Rocky makes some great smokes... this is one of my favorites. My wife even picked up a few for me as a Father's Day gift... she's got good taste.

Had my first from a box of torpedos I won in the CIGARfest raffle. Earthy sweetness is how I would describe it. Chewy. I liked it alot. I'll need to smoke more but I think I still like the Vingage '92 better, even better than the OWR. That's just me. I would definitely buy more.

Had my first one on fathers day. Excellent Smoke I agree with your review whole heartedly. I will be getting myself some more of these very soon.

The Lonsdale is not a bad smoke for a Patel. Lots of smoke, flavor, perfect draw. Granted I won't buy anymore, it was nice to try. Something new.

Great review, about 4 months ago exchanged cigars w/ fellow CS member and it was a RPD Toro, ordered a box the next day. There are a number of RP blends I have not tried as yet, intend giving the Edge, and the Fusion a try next. :ss

Well hell, just when I thought my humi was full I go and read your reveiw! Now I have to go and find some. Thanks for the review.
:cb

Man, when your opening line was about tossing the Decade off your deck I was horrified!!! Glad you liked it. It's one of my favs.

I picked up 8 Toros a month back at an RP event. Excellent after a steak.

Haven't tried the robusto, but have two boxes of the torpedos. They are great and such an effortless smoke. They compliment anything but I especially like them with an irish cofee. mmmm!

Just curious Darrell. Sounds like you enjoyed it, why would you not buy more?
