Rocky Patel Decade

I smoked one (some of it anyways) and only one. So I'm definitely not even close to an expert on these. But in my opinion this cigar was bad, very, very bad for at least the first half. I think it was starting to pass through that harsh, acrid, really disgusting phase, but my tastebuds were pretty much in searing pain at that point and had to give up on it. Must have had a bad one?

Must have been a fake.:D
Seriously, harsh and acrid are not something I could get from a Decade. What do you think about the Edge, DPG blue, San Cristobal, OpusX, LGC serie R? Any of those smack down a Decade in taste power.

Based on my single experience with the RP Decade, probably any of those would blow it away. I've never had an RP Edge, though. Actually, I really like the San Cristobal and would tend to chose that one out of all those listed. The few DPG Blues I've had have been good. I've liked most of the Opus Xs I've had. I haven't had a LGC Serie R in a couple of years, but they were OK as I remember. I do have one each of the 2004, 2005, and 2006 Limited Editions of the LGC Serie R (they're are enormous cigars) in my singles drawer and will smoke them someday, I'm sure.
 
I too have only smoked one of the decades and so far found the couple of ITC 10ths much more enjoyable. I have a couple more of each resting so will try to confirm my intial thoughts on the two cigars shortly.

:tpd: I thought it was over rated but that's just me. Glad you enjoyed your smoke.
