Rocky Patel R4 (summary: it's a Dog Rocket)

I've contacted RP and also talked to a rep at an RP event about these smokes and found out some interesting things. From what both told me, the R4 blend didn't go as planned and RP dumped their entire stock on CI for a ridiculously cheap price. The rep said he tried and couldn't get 1/3 of the way down one. RP was going to re-label them as something completely different than the Rocky Patel line-up, but didn't.

Sadly, both the rep I talked to in person and the email I received from RP were both apologetic about the R4. I still have one maduro in my humidor and will give it until November to try it again. November will be one year in the humi so I'm wondering if it'll change at all. I doubt it, but it's just one cigar.

I've never tried one so I can't comment on that cigar, but most all of the cigars I have smoked taste awful for the first three puffs.

I bought a 10 pk 2fer (20 total) of the maduro robustos several months ago. Maybe even towards the beginning of the year I think. As of right now they just occupy space on a tray in my cooler. The last 2 I tried to smoke just didn't want to smoke. The kept going out, and when they were lit I couldn't get any smoke out of them even though the draw was fine. Believe me they weren't too wet or too dry, 6 month + at 65% humidity those things should have been perfect. When I get one that actually smoked ok, I found myself thinking "I can't wait till I'm done with this thing".

A number of folks have chimed in that they felt your post was insulting. Frankly, I agree. I was going to let this go but since you have not, I will tell you, as I tell everyone, feel free to disagree with opinions but please refrain from personal insults.

Well, Jack, Hoax did not claim bad reviews were on the site he bought from. Your suggesting that he did while accusing others of not being able to read is fackin hilarious. Kind of like those people with signs saying "your an idiot". Thanks for the laugh.

SO, by calling someone out on a BULLSH*T "three puff" review where they OPENLY trashed the vendor AND the maker.....will keep this in my notes!!!

1 - trash Vendor - Okay

2 - trash Maker - Okay

3 - call BS on someone who does 1 and 2 - BAD

Just let it go and move on. I've had my squabbles here, and after two or three posts, I realize that it isn't going anywhere,--just like this isn't going anywhere--and I withdraw from the thread or PM if necessary. You aren't going to change anyone's mind and you won't feel any better by continuing to fight or defendant yourself (if that's how you see it).

Let it go.
 
I agree with Tobii on this one. Normally I wouldn't meddle with such topics but I can't resist this.

I don't think Tobii was offensive at least I don't think that it was his intention to be. And frankly if a moderator decides to call on a gorilla, other gorilla's shouldn't interfere with it and shouldn't respond to it after that.

I know I'm doing the same, but it's only to make this point :)
