Romeo y Julieta Reserva Real

Maturing Primate
Okay, back in May I saw an offer somewhere for a free 4-pack of these.
Gave them my address and promptly forgot about it entirely.
Yesterday a box shows up at the house, return address somewhere in NC, and just three initials for the company name.
So I open the box, figuring there will be an invoice/bill/nasty note inside.
Nothing but styrofoam peanuts and four RyJ RRs. No other clues.
And I can't remember where they came from.
This dementia is really getting to be a pain.
Now I have had these before, were an early recommendation from a local B&M, and I do like them.
Wife left for work early today, so I torched one with my morning coffee (whole milk, no sugar).
What an incredible combination!!
The creamy earthiness of this cigar pairs so well with coffee.
Lately I have been on something of a "spice hunt" with what I have been smoking, and this baby really brought me back to the "basics".
This was a well rounded cigar in its own right, with no extras, no gimmicks, no added crap.
Started my day out just right.
Do yourself a favour and light one of these with your morning coffee.
It has the power to give you a positive attitude for the morning.

Enjoy, Chris

I had one and I didn't think it had much taste to it. I think I need to pick another one up and see if it tastes any different. I like the Romeo y Julieta 1875's though

This is one of my favorite cigars with a cup of coffee in the morning. It just holds up very well to to coffee. It makes me wish it was Saturday morning!!!!

You probably got the sampler from Altadis. I got a free montecristo from them, and also an R&J reserva sampler I purchased but havent received. They have a reputation for taking forever to send stuff. I agree the reserva real is a great smoke though. Wish they would send mine already.

Those go good with coffee. I haven't had one in a while and now I guess I'm gonna have to (with coffee). I think the quality of the RyJ RR is excellent. A very nice "mild" smoke for early in the a.m.

Now you're bumming me out - I picked up a Monte White just for this reason, to enjoy it with cup of coffee on the early part of the 4th - now I wish I would have grabbed a Reserve Real instead because it's been awhile and you reminded me of what a great mild and creamy smoke it is.

I have had a couple of these lately and enjoyed them - The Reserve Real Corona. They have a good draw and fairly even burn. Enjoy!:ss

The only NC RyJ besides the 1875 bully or corona that I can smoke. Don't really care for the other blends.

I fully concur (with exception for the Vintage, which are nice, IMHO); the maddies don't do it, but the 1875 and the RR are nice. No experience yet on the Habanos.

I ordered the "sampler" a few weeks ago; it was $4 for 4 Romeo y Julieta Reserva Real in various sizes. It also mentioned 4 - 6 weeks for delivery, so I'm happy to hear that a few people have actually received them.

Now I'm gonna be watching for an unidentified box to show up!

I'm enjoying one right now with my coffee. I agree with everyone else, it's a good smoke that compliments coffee with cream and sugar. Thanks again for the idea. Happy 4th everyone!

The 1875 has more flavor than the Reserva Real. I like the smoothness of the RR better. It is actually one of my EDS gars.

My guy at the B&M suggested these for my newly smoking gf, she loves them. Maybe I should try them sometime instead of just giving them all to her. :hn

I did the same Altadis deal, its a good way to keep some smokes around for my mooching friends. Had one the other day, good even burn and nice mild cigar. And the next one I smoke will be with a cup of joe, thanks for the suggestion

I used to smoke these all the time but have been on a more medium-full bodied cigar kick. I think I have one more of these in my humi that's probably been there for a year or longer. I'll have to light it up soon.
