I have really been wanting to try these but up here in the great white north I think they are prohibitivly expensive - ~$22/stick. I was wondering if folks thought that they were worth the price to try?

The 92 is one of my current favorites, but $22 dollars a stick is high. I would try landing some of these babies on CBID or buying online.

They are great $5-$7 dollar smokes (cbid)... $22? I wouldn't

I like both of them - but not at $22 each. Seems to me in your location you could get a ton of sticks worth more than the Vintage.

Perhaps when you can engage in a trade with someone for a few.

They are both good sticks. I prefer the '92 myself. To answer your question...I wouldn't pay $22 a stick for em. I can get the '92 here in $10-15 range with some of the smaller sizes for under $10. I would go with what Woogie said and try to find some online for a better price.

In the "great white North" I'm assuming you mean Canada?

If you can buy them online off of cbid, do so... I've gotten 5 packs of 1990s and 1992s for less than $17, therefore pricing at less than $3.50 a stick. Definitely worth that, and I'd even say probably a reasonable B&M price of $8.00 is worthwhile for a stick or two (though I wouldn't buy many of them at that price).

At $22, I'd say NO WAY. I don't know what you can get in your area from Cuba... but anything would be better than Patels at $22.

I thought thats what everyone would say, unfortunately no cbid here :(

Eastern or western Canada? If you are across from Detroit, I would be happy to mail you some smokes. If not, I am 100% sure you can find a kind B/SOTL on here who is closer and would throw some cigars in the mail for you. :ss

EDIT: After you do a few NST's of course. :D

I am in southwestern ontario

Cbid is off limits for us maple syrup lovers. However if you get a US post office box then the sky is the limit (or atleast up to $ 200 per 48 hour stay).

If that is not your bag then there are some creative and kind internet sites that are willing to ship you "gifts" of cigars. These "gifts" should pass through Canadian Customs duty fee. Either one of these paths should lead you to get some nice NC smokes at reasonable prices however they do require a little extra work.

If you PM I can forward you one of these "gift" merchandisers.

And to those wondering why we Canadian would want to get NC cigars when we can easily get ISOMs - price and variety. For a Robusto of a certain popular brand (starts with a C) I am paying close to $ 40.00. In addition to the price issue I can either smoke one brand of ISOM or another not alot of choices in the sizes either. We may have access to them up here but in some areas we do not have variety so we rely on a diet of NCs to keep it intresting.

Not hardly! Admittedly, I'm not a big fan of RP products personally but when you start approaching $20 US it is nothing but a rip off.

I really don't think Rocky Patel's new cigars are any better than his old Indian Tabac brand that sells for 1/2 to 1/3 the price.. I don't pay $8 for the 90 92 or Sungrown. If any of his new lines are worth the price of admisission to me its the Old World Reserve.
