Sale - Perdomo Reserve - Cabinet Series - @ Thompsons

I've liked the few I have had of these cigars. Thompson Cigars catalog arrived today and on page 44 they advertise Perdomo Reserve cigars, 20 for $49. The picture is of the "P" series. The last line of the add states, "Due to availability, wrappers may vary."

That part is fine with me too, I like the natural but find the maduro to be better. So, I call their 800 number and ask what series are they offering. After being placed on hold for about 4 minutes, I'm told, "We don't have any further information on that item number." Sigh....

At that price it seems to be a good deal no matter what comes. Any opinions?

Because they are "Thompsons" ?

Nah, because their customer service is terrible and they don't always ship cigars in good condition. I'd be the first one to jump on a good deal, but with Thompsons chances are that you'll pay for it in the end. You might have better luck, but a quick search through the forum here will turn up a few threads about dealings with Thompsons.

I have personally never bought anything from them, but that is b/c I read plenty of bad expeirences with them that fellow BOTL talked about here in the forums.Rather just not order, then be another upset with them.

Why would you buy a product from a company who doesn't have "any further information on that item number"? If a company can't tell you what you'll be getting from them, then there is absolutely no reason to buy from them. :2

Shop around, you can find better retailers with better prices...And I'm sure that there are people reading this thinking, "I bought from them, it worked out..." You'll get burned eventually...never fails with that company.

Because. I could be a "winner". I like to gamble! 6 chambers, one bullet. Figure the odds! Bad stuff always happens to other people! The young are immortal.

But, at 54, I'll go with sage advise. Thanks! :)

"Sage" advise? That's the first time my advise has been called "sage". :)

I'm with Syekick on this one. I love a good gamble.
I even smoke some of their (Thompson) house brands.
'Course I smoke the occasional CREMOSA!
Now if you really want to run with the big ones, try Finck cigars.
Cheap, too!
Some day I need to tell you all about the time me and Euell smoked up a
batch of beetles.
Big D "The Nevada Jackass"

At that price...It is like going to the Casino...Sometimes you make a longshot gamble and it pays off!!

:ss

The reply from Thompson's CSR should be a big, bright red flag. You'll get whatever they want to send you.

I've had a TERRIBLE time with thompsons. I placed an order on July 30th and selected 3-4 business day shipping. I still do not have my cigars. Their customer service SUCKS. BUYER BEWARE

You could always just send a check for those Paso Doble...cigars. You might have to wait for them but at least you were only out 45 dollars! I heard they are pretty tasty....How's that for SAGE advice??

Doesn't the the Pheonix have a 90-91 rating? Is that a samwich rolled machine made cigar or is it hand rolled?

Does anybody know if their Customer service has gotten better??
