Sancho Panza extra fuerte

This review is kinda sucky but the smoke was pretty good, so bare with me. my brain ainst twerkn so gud rite now.

Sancho Panza extra fuerte:

I was a bit weary that this was going to be a full bodied smoke that was too much for me to handle. After the light and first puff I was pleased to find this cigar full of flavor but it was a bit too harsh to enjoy. I have many different places I like to enjoy my cigars and one of the more odd places is in the shower. When I take a shower, I like to relax. I sit down in the tub, grab a few books, listen to some music, sometimes I even turn off the lights and turn on a strobe light just to set a strongly medative mood. Well this time I kicked back and read an ethnobotanical book and enjoyed my Extra Fuerte experience. Just to help you visualize how this works, I hang half of my body outside of the shower when I read and smoke.Anyways, back to the cigar. After the first few puffs and about an inch into this red devil, the harsh nature subsided and it really started to impress. This is the type of cigar that will bleed a bit, meaning that a tarry reddish brown substance will stain your fingers if you touch the wet tip. In fact, The cigar even sat for a good 15 minutes and burned very well without going out. I started puffing on it again and it turned into a great smoke by mellowing out greatly. At first it was a bit defensive and harsh but once it became comfortable with me the smoke transformed into a mild stick. The draw was beautiful, perfect, perfect, perfect. It was a very nice experience smoking this. I never liked Sanch Panza.. I smoked a Dub Mad Cervantes because of the reviews on here and I really liked it. The only reason I bought an extra fuerte was because the tobacconist that has a similiar preference to me recommended it. For the price, it was well worth switching up my normal smoking regime. This small little cigar lasted slightly over an hour. I don't know if my palate is just maturing or if this cigar is actually as tame as I claim. I never really liked anything remotely full bodied but I bought several full bodied smokes last time I hit up the smoke shop. I wish I could have explained the flavor a bit more but I'm not very good at doing so unless I smoke my cigars in the morning. I would recommend smoking this as an after dinner cigar. Also, I was a bit light headed after ending this demon, wasn't nessessarily a nic bomb but wasn't too far from being one.

One last note.. While finishing this cigar I noted a sort of rum or whisky type flavor as I blew it out of my nose. This was very pleasant but I could only exhale through my nose a few times before I started to classify it as a 'Nose Tickler' (Increasing in intensity my rating scale goes "Nose Tickler, Nose Pincher, Nose Biter") but it wasn't that bad. Give one a try, they aren't too expensive. This is the Sancho Panza with the Red Label.

Can someone please tell me what the word 'Fuerte' means (I pronounce it Fwu err tay, is this correct)?

Just had a cordoba last week.. great cigar, I certainly can agree
that is not to be smoke on an empty stomach

This is one of the staples of my humidor. I absolutley love this cigar - I have only smoked the Madrid. Great cigar, even better price tag.

Flavor is not bad, but the strength is excessive. I rated the Cordoba a "C" since I believed that the strength of the cigar overpowered any virtues that the cigar may have had. Still a well built stick that burned quite good. If you are in to "extreme" smokes, this one is it!

Great review. I love these smokes; I buy the Pamplona for a quick smoke when I don't have alot of time. I bought these when they first came out and paid about $37 a box. I see where there're in the $55 range now.

all the sancho smokes are great ones, a good solid cigar at a price you just can't beat

Great review and I absolutely agree that these are great smokes at a great price. I was first introduced to these a couple of years ago and am now a big fan, though I couldn't find them last week when I was down in Honduras where they are made!!! I am working my way through a sampler right now and will buy a box for my next overseas trip.

Great review! I love these things. I keep two boxs of the Fuerte and Double Maduro in the coolerdor all the time. Can't go wrong for what they cost.

This a cigar I really like. Flavor, strength and great price. I usually prefer the PAMPLONA (4-1/2 x 50), though I have a BARCELONA (6-1/2 x 48) in waiting to be torched. The first time I smoked one was in the beginning and at that time it was a bit too much for me even though I liked the flavors. Now their just yummy.

Pumping this old thread. Just fired one up...haven't had one of these in years. Amazing how good these smokes are...and that you can find these for under $40 a box!

I've been hiding a box in my humi for around 5 months now, I guess I should bust one out and give it a shot.

What would be teh general consensus as to which SP cigar is the fuller flavored or stronger - the Extra Fuerte or the Double Maduro?

I recently had the DM and really enjoyed it. Nice smooth but asserive flavors.

Wow. Thanks for reviving this thread as I wasn't around when it started. I must say that this one qualifies as one of the oddest reviews I have ever read. Just a little too much information as far as I'm concerned. I could have done without the visual of some dude laying halfway out of his shower and in the floor smoking a cigar.:r

I do like the smoke though. Had my first one over the weekend and will definitley be having more of them. I find this smoke to be heads and shoulders above the SP double maduro which everyone else seems to love. With Sancho, it's the Extra Fuerte for me.
