The only stick I have that I think would be considered a "special occasion" smoke is the AF Anejo 49 that Norm sent me.. It scares me!!! so I don't know when I'll smoke it? But as for saving a stick for a special occasion, not really... I just make sure I'm not sick, have time, and in good company to really enjoy it!!

If I wake up dead tomorrow - I can't tell you how pissed off I will be! :D That said I don't really save any particular cigars with the exception of two Opus. I don't like Opus but am hoping that by the time I get done aging them - I will. I do on the other hand ration some of my favorite cigars, i.e. smoke them sparingly so I don't go through them too fast.

I smoke whatever I feel like that day.
During the winter smoking outside, is the only time I will grab an inexpensive smoke on purpose. That way if it just gets too damn cold. I don't feel to bad about putting it down.

What I smoke and what I save for "special" occasions depends more on time than anything else. There are a few sticks I am saving for important moments in my life. Those are sticks I may never get a chance to smoke again, and are very special to me. Others I save only because I want to have the dedicated time to really experience the cigar and not rush the moment. These are the gifted sticks that I might come across again, but have never smoked. Then there are the sticks that I smoke on days off or in the evenings, and my daily cigars that I really won't be super pi$$ed if I have to leave them.

I save some for certain occasions. I have a lot of pairs that I will smoke with my good buddy who gave me many of them. If I pickup only a few ISOMs, I'll save them for something special. That may just be a Sunday afternoon I can sit and enjoy it.

I enjoy everything I smoke, or I hope too, but sometimes I'll want extra dedication, the correct mindset, etc to burn a special one.

Well, I didn't enp up smoking the small batch last night because I fell asleep really early. Today I went for it and changed my mind. Not so much saving it for later (kind of I guess) but more because I saw the CAO Sopranos snowy sent me in the same shipment and that ended up being my victim.

I find the poll interesting. I wish the poll was public, as it'd be interesting to see who saves them and who doesn't, and compare it to how old, or how long they've been smoking.

A wise gorilla in this forum once told me "Just smoke the damn thing".... Not exactly his words but same meaning.

So Mr Greer smoke the damn thing. It is very good..... I smoked one yesterday and it was awesome...

Now back to the question on hand. I only save them for aging purpose. I usually smoke at least one from the newly purchased boxed fresh (or with a month). If they are good I will smoke them again otherwise I would smoke one a month later and so on so forth....

You only live once. Smoke what you want when you want. I know we are bound by limited resources but I sure most on here will be able to purchase a box of what they want every once in a while. (If they exist).

:D

Everyday is a special occasion. Live like that and you'll be happier. So right now I only try to buy the smokes that I think are the best of the best, the only exception is that I bought 4 boxes of H Uppman and Partagas for herfing and trading.

:tpd: I smoke whatever my taste buds crave for, hey i'm built like that

I am a member of the "smoke 'em if you got 'em" camp. I wouldn't want to get hit by a bus and have all my good smokes just chilling in the humi. Man would I be pissed. Life is too short to smoke average cigars, and since I don't smoke every day, even more so. When I go searching, I want it to be something that I am pretty certain I am going to enjoy. By the same turn, I will put down anything I am not enjoying. I pitched an opus X a little over halfway because it just wasn't doing anything for me.

When I open that humidor, they are all fair game.

It depends on what I want to smoke and how much time I have.

No cigar is ever safe in there.
