Can someone please explain to me what a serie No. is. For example:
Padron serie 1926: there are No.1's, No. 2's No. 6, etc. What do the numbers mean. I assume they all use the same blend , do they refer to a certain size and/or shape?
The refer to the size and shape. The blend is the same. The following is a link that takes you to a retailer. There you can see the name "No." and then the dimensions 6.7" long x 54 ring gauge. http://www.cigar.com/cigars/viewcigar.asp?brand=330
I have heard that Jorge Padron named the #35 because that's how long it takes him to smoke one. His favorite Padron if I recall him saying (mine too....I've smoked them back to back a few times)..
I believe the Serie No. nomenclature was what was originally used for naming cigar sizes. Then they went to robusto, churchill, torpedo, etc...now you can find them in either, or both.
