serious question.. What to do with cigars you don't care for?

I have a patient that goes out of his way to drop off a 20 count of Mr. B's every couple of weeks to me. I now have a few bundles at the house. I don't really enjoy them and have been gifting them to the college kids that camp next door to me. However, does anyone have any ideas of a good place to send these. Would it be considered bad form to send them overseas since these are not considered premium cigars? Any thoughts would be great.

Thanks

Sorry, but I think the troops deserve better. If you want to send cigars to the troops, send them some good ones. Perhaps a PM to the "Club Stogie Troop Supporters" could shed some light on this. I for one, would not send dog rockets to the troops. :2

I would send every cigar you can to them. Let them decide what they want and don't want. See my above post. Better to have them and not want them than to not have any at all and want one. :tu

I say the troops deserve to pick what they smoke

Send them all and let them throw out the rockets!

Who is to say what a dog rocket is? People buy Philly Grapes and White Owl Pineapples, on purpose. I'm not sure that I would use them to start a bonfire, but someone must like them or they wouldn't be in stores. I say send them, It may turn out to someone's Padron......

I resisted chiming in until now.

Both sides here have a good point but for those that have lived far from home, who have lived in deplorable conditions and have risked their lives to be a part of something much larger than any one of us, cigars are a pleasant reminder of home.

There are alot of troops who do not smoke and the cigars that some of us may not enjoy will be a prize for someone who just wants to partake in a smoke with his or her buddies who know about cigars and enjoy different sticks - the comradarie that cigars produce and developing friendships on top of the stress these good people live on a minute to minute basis will be much appreciated.

Just my thoughts on the subject...

as some one who has spent plenty of time deployed in the sand box. i say send them. A lot of guys/gals will be glad that you did. I had my first cigar in the saudi desert in 1991.

Most of the noobs won't care what you send and it may send them on their way to CS to improve their knowledge.

I have a few mazos of cigars sitting ina cooler that I smoked at one point but don't care for much any more due to changing tastes. A good friend of mine enjoys an occasional cigar and thinks that they are wonderful so every few weeks I hand him a couple. If there is a chance that someone serving will enjoy them then send them. Unless the client that brings them to you doesn't like you then I would assume that he gives them to you be HE enjoys them and hopes that you will too. Someone somewhere will enjoy them, not every ciger we send can be an Opus X or a PAM.:2

I'm pretty certain I've never purchased a dog rocket, but I do own some cigars (actually boxes of the blasted things) I don't care as for as I once did (Rp Edge and Anejo 49's comes to mind). I use them for newbie trades when I do them, or for the lottery and I give them to non-smoking friends when they come over. I mean they are still good cigars, and every once in a while I still fire one up.
