So not only have I made my first online purchase for my own personal satisfaction, but I've also won an auction with the intent of saying a big 'Thank You' to some Air Force people I met at the X-Prize Cup.

So once I get these, I've noticed that all bombs and PIMs come in at least a ziploc although some look like they've been vaccum bagged (sorry even my rocket parts don't get that treatment yet). What else do you do to ensure a proper delivery?

TIA

I just try to make sure everything is nice N snug when I send my stuff off. Once I close the box, I give it a little shake to make sure everything is snug and not too much looseness in there. Lots of popcorn, or shredded paper works great!

Bubble wrap or styrofoam peanut things, make sure nothing moves when you shake the pkg.:tu

dang your fast Boon :)

Most of us try to recycle packaging as much as possible. The heavier medium ziplocks are a good safe way to insure delivery. Use either of the two video boxes from USPS for fivers(free at USPS.com) Most of us ship priority mail so you get a free DC# and with three day delivery you dont have to worry about humidity control.

Both the Newbie PIF(Pay it Forward) and the Newbie Sample Trade(NST) are good places to start and a great way to sample a variety of smokes.

I second the free video boxes from usps.com... The biggest thing IMO is that the contents are snug and won't shift much in case the mail carrier is a disgruntled Punt, Pass, & Kick champion with a temper. Crinkled, heavy-stock paper helps absorb some impact and takes up a lot of space if need be. Depending on who you are shipping to, you may also want to create some separation between the seams of the packaging and the content itself, as an errant box knife could easily ruin your obviously well-thought gesture...

I can't wait to try that, I've been looking but since I'm starting from scratch with an ex and three kids I love to spend time with (the kids not the ex - but her new husband enjoys one too) might be after the date of the fat man before I get to jump in.

BTW, thanks already for everyone's input. I had no idea USPS had a video box. I hate junkmail but love their service vs. UPS and such.

Opusfxd,
I am assuming that you are into HPR and maybe even a BAR. I have a couple of friends from Nebraska that moved to Denver. They are both into HPR. One is a Tripoli board member named Bruce Lee. I am from Iowa. Glad to see another High Power Rocketry guy on the site.
