Should I or Shouldn't I?

Smoke em' if you Got em'
Should I or Shouldn't I drop 400 bucks on a humidor at our new Cigar Bar and Lounge. The 400 bucks gets you a one year rental for the humidor, plus 5 house cigars and access to the Member's Only Lounge which has leather chairs and a flat screen tv. Very Nice. So, if you weren't in forclosure or behind in you child support, would you drop 400 smackers? I'm very tempted.:ss

I'd rather use the $400, if it's disposable, on some really good smokes. I could store them at home, which is where I enjoy most of my sticks.

Right now with tough times, my wife would hide the $400 from me and probably pay some stupid bills (some of which have cigars charges on them anyway :D).

How often will you use the Members Only Lounge?
Do you need a $400 humidor?
How good are the 5 house cigars?

Honestly I'd say no...go on cheaphumidors.com under the imperfects section and get something there. Take that extra $$$ and get a box of something nice.. I'm sure there are cheaper (free) lounges that you can hang out in and smoke..but I don't know your financial situation. Honestly, if I'm lucky I get to herf with a botl on this board 1 or 2x a month if I'm lucky...so an exclusive lounge access isn't worth it IMHO.

That would be tempting, indeed. How close is this to your home? Do you know any of the other members? How many members are there? How long has this been in existence? Are the staff friendly and knowledgeable? Do they have a decent selection of sticks? Do they have a decent selection of drinks? How often/long are they open? What's on the TV when you've been there? How big is the lounge? How often would you use it? Are there other freebie/pay lounges near you, and what are their ameneties?

You see, lotsa questions before I fork over that kinda money. But, IF those questions were answered to my satisfaction, I'd really be tempted!

I think it all depends on how often you will use the lounge. I don't think the 5 smokes or the humi use is worth it, but if you are going to use the lounge all the time, maybe it will be worth it to you.

I wouldnt just because you are in SC you can smoke just about 12 months out of the year outside. Go buy some smokes with that coin

5 minutes
Not Yet...seem like nice folks though....future BOTL's
Don't know.
Not Long...Grand Opening was tonight.
Very Friendly...I know one of the owners(Not well enough for a freebie, though)
Very good selection. Largest I've seen in this area.
TV wasn't on tonight.
6 big leather and two large leather sofas. Probably 20 x 60 feet.
I would use it about once or twice a week.
No free lounges in this area....Unless you call my porch and garage a free lounge.
It also has a very nice Italian Wine Bar.
:ss:tu

I don't know how long you've lived there but I'm sure something will pop up..maybe ask some of the Sc BOTL's here for locations.

Where are all these free cigar lounges???

I was making my post before I saw the "no free cigar lounges"

If you can spend the money and not feel screwed if it turns out to be a dud, then go for it. If, for you, it's a lot of coin then hang around for a while. There's no rush and you'll have the information you need to nudge you one way or the other. :2

Thanks for all the advice....Decision has been made...Drum Roll please:ms

What are you crazy...There's nothing wrong with my porch. Still a nice place to smoke in the not so plush part of the bar. Maybe I'll work on getting one of those "free" memberships.

Thanks Guys.:ss

Um, it is SC not CA. You try sitting outside in the high nineties with super high humidity or during the winter.

Probably a good idea. I think that I'd wait and see how they do b4 shelling out that much money. It's a tough racket, if they survive for a year or so they'll likely be around long enough to be worth the $400. And, 5 minutes from home- WOW! At least you can keep an eye on them and see how they're doing. I don't think there ARE even any cigar lounges anywhere near me, not to mention good cigar stores!(Party Source and Jungle Jim's both an hour plus away!)
