Should I smoke one, or let 'em rest?

I just got a 5-pack each of the La Tradicion Torpedo and a Sabor Cubano Corona Gorda. I know it is typically suggested that I let them rest in the humi for at least a few days (if not weeks) before smoking. These are shipped in a very nice "Humi-Pouch".

I don't want to waste one fighting a poor burn and constantly re-lighting, but I don't know if I can hold out. This is only the second batch I've received thru the mail.

Help!

I would let it sit in the humidor for a few days (5 - 10) so that they can get acclimated to your usual smoking humidity :2

I will smoke them Right Off The Truck if I have the urge. That way I can compare the difference in taste after they sit for a few weeks or months.:2

Definitely let them rest. Those humi pouches get warm and they give your cigars a nice steam bath. If you think they really keep a perfect 67 I got a couple of bridges to sell. I alway put special instructions (where possible) to ship mine with no added humidification.

I always let'm rest for 2-3 weeks after their long trip.:2

I will do this pretty often to establish a baseline.I'm more often then not happy with the next one :)

Let em rest in the humi for a couple weeks. Like you say why waste one???

You do have others to smoke don't you?

Follow your impulses when there is little consequence. That's a big part of enjoying life. Why torture yourself?

Smoke em if ya got em'!

If I get a fresh off the truck delivery I let one sit on top of the humidor/counter for a few hours than put it to fire.

Not being a smarta$$, but gars I receive off the Brown truck have always been on the dry side. I'll smoke one and let others rehydrate.

Let one sit on the table for about 4 hours and then smoke it...

Well . . . I caved and did just that with one of the LTC Torps. It was a beautiful smoke - perfect burn and draw, no problems at all. If these get any better with time, I don't know if I'll be able to stand it! :dr

My new purchases I just put them in my humi and try to forget about them for a month or so. I know some times it's hard but it's usually worth it.
