Sleazy Cigar Shop - Gives cigars a bad name?

That neighborhood does have a lot of bars that cater to the young, college crowd so I can definitely see that group soaking it up.

if they have them laying about, do you think they would really care who you are or what you were wearing?

Maybe, maybe not! Maybe they never thought much about it?

That being said, I'm also not the type to say that "something" offends me in this forum, but say nothing at the store.

If I walked in the store, it would probably be during normal business hours, so I'd naturally be in my "work clothes" (clerical collar). Depending on the response at the counter, I may shop or I may walk out.

I am also the type to call over a manager in a restaurant if the meal and service were above excellent and comment about it. In fact, did that just a couple weeks ago when on vacation in Michigan. Was at Boone's Long Lake Inn and the food was excellent and the waitress was attentive, courteous and helpful. Asked for a manager and complimented him on the food and the staff.

I absolutely love guests like yourself. I use to work in the restaurant business as a shift supervisor. Basically I actually ran everything while the shift manager sat in the office sleeping or looking at their email. It was always nice to know when you have an employee not doing their job because I can then correct the situation. However, rarely do people tell me someone is going above and beyond their job. Sure, I usually know who those people are already but its nice for a guest to notice it as well. It helps boost the employee's self-esteem and the image of the restaurant. I use to carry free meal passes for people like yourself. :)

As a member of that 18-35 male demographic that this shop seems to be catering to, I must admit that a place like that would make me uncomfortable. Are they trying to be a tobacconist, or your creepy uncle's apartment?

This is from CS list of places to smoke in PA--http://www.clubstogie.com/vb/showthread.php?t=96206
They never claim to be a class joint.

Maybe it just the libertarian in me, but its his/their shop and they can run it however they seem fit.

If it's a place that makes me feel uncomfortable then I wont go but i am not going to try and make them change their business.

I wont try to stuff my beliefs down someone else's throat.

We smokers should understand that better than any one.

But I will say one thing, I won't give a darn what they have on the wall or the magazine rack if they have Opus X for $2 a stick.

I love my **** as much as the next guy, but I don't like looking through ***** mags in public. Especially with a long, hard, dark thing in my mouth (the cigar).

Today I walked into Blooms in Pittsburgh Southside. The selection was amazing, anything you want, it was there. A large quantity of aged cigars as well. So that part I can't complain about, however it had a sleazy factor to it. There were pictures of naked biker chicks hung up around the place, and as soon as you walk into the shop there's a large table stacked to the brim with ***** magazines. Probably about 50 of them. I don't know, but I felt it gave cigar shops a bad name. Had this weird feel to it, can't really describe it. It just wasn't the same feel you get when you walk into a cigar store/parlor. Anyone been here or feel like my feelings were just silly?

Did you think that maybe the reason they as you said have "...anything you want, it was there. A large quantity of aged cigars as well." is because they do not have the sales they would like and can't figure it out. Or maybe they want to provide for their customers anything they want. Some of us prefer just to have the cigars! My feeling is they don't have anything I want. :BS
