Smoke one for Columbus

I have a La Arora 1495 torpedo that i will be lighting upin old Chris' honor:tu. But the way 1495 is in celebration of the year that Columbus discovered dominica.

Got a little herf planned for tonight with mtnman36 here at the Casa de SmokeyJoe... thank you Mr. Columbus!

(Kinda reminds me of an old Jerry Reed song from the 70s... "Lord, Mr. Ford, what have you done!." :ss :r

I'm always looking for an excuse to light a cigar in celebration of something, just like the USPS apparently looks for excuses to take a day off... So tonight, In honor of Mr. Colombus(The man who not only missed his mark by half the globe, but didn't discover America, yet he gets full credit anyways) I'll light up a stogie. The question, as always, which one...

Well I just back from my local shop and scored a couple of smokes for tonight
Padron 2000 Maduro and an RYJ 130th anniversary 007.

I had a '06 ryj corona today for good old C-Bus......

Had a nice relaxing day off of school today...studying, smoking, working out ect...

I wonder if the PC crowd would be upset if I smoked and Indian Tabac cigar to celebrate Columbus Day? :p

I had the day off today and took the opportunity (great weather) to burn down a number of fine smokes. :tu

Go to a college campus and make that joke. They go out of there way here to remind everyone that he didn't discover America. One year a group on campus even distributed excerpts from his journals where he mentions that Native Americans could make good slaves. Rather than remember him as an important person in history they just bash him.

Just to clarify, I respect him as a historical figure, I just think it's funny that what we remember/honor him for, was really a big accident. Some accidents turn out pretty good(especially his, lol) but they're not normally celebrated like him. Not to discredit his bravery, or accomplishments. I just think that the "Discovering America" bit could be toned down a bit. Just my :2 anyways.

:r That is exactly the type of brain-dead-idiot I was thinking of when I wrote that. The really funny/maddening thing is when you talk to these morons, their heroes tend to come from the ranks of Che Guevara, Castro, Stalin, Mao etc. :pu
