Smokin' PIOs.

No, not POS. Anyway, I met up with Jared from TexCigars yesterday afternoon and he had these, said I should try one. The shape I smoked was a toro. It smoked smooth. At first light there was some major pepper and citrus tang. About 3/4" down that mellowed out to a woody, sweet almost whiskey flavor. It was pretty consistent after that but it occasionally threw floral hints and chocolate notes at me. Alas, time only allowed for me to smoke a little over 2/3 of the cigar so I can't say as to how that last bit of it was, went to go see the new Batman which was worth abandoning my cigar for.

The PIO VI is a pretty good smoke. I got a chance to speak with Alberto at the IPCPR Trade Show and he's changed the wrapper up a bit since I smoked it. He's now aging the wrapper longer. I can't remember if it is the same or different wrapper though.

Yeah from what I saw on the box it said 12 years old. I don't know if that's just the wrapper or the entire construction but it sure was tasty.
