Smoking in Chicago...

I'm planning on being in Chicago (North Shore) on and off over the next several months, and was looking for a few cigar-friendly spots. I'm pretty sure that your new law is just like NYC (and elsewhere), which makes it really tough. I was hoping that you guys could drop some quality names and places on me. While cruising up and down Lakeshore with a nice cigar isn't all bad, sometimes you just prefer to sit and relax...
 
Sullivans has an outdoor smoking area where you can have a cigar after a great dinner.

Besides that, there are B&Ms like Jack Schwartz and Iwan Ries....and Cigar King in Skokie (my personal fave) is just a short drive.
 
well if you have time to take the Metra to Naperville, you can smoke at Bull and Bear or even in the cigar room inside of The Foundry.
 
Iwan Ries is a great shop, been there before.

Can't smoke at Ditka's place anymore? I was there, oh, maybe 4-5 years ago on my way to a Packer game in Lambeau, and had a cigar upstairs after dinner. Even met Iron Mike..........

No where indoors, except B&Ms and a percentage of hotel rooms.
 
It's funny how the bigger cities tend to have the least amount of personal freedom... Indianapolis is gravitating towards this type of silly behavior but has not been fully embraced. Thankfully.

Damn, every time I hear this, I think how much longer will I have Tammany Hall, the no-cut cigar bar in Providence that I am in pretty much once a week since it opened..........it defines "cigar bar".

I'm going to go through withdrawal if/when a ban like that happens in RI.

When I hear these bans, make me shudder.....
 
Is Jillie's still downtown? It's a jazz club and I remember smoking a cigar there. Can't believe Ditka's upstairs room is off limits now. I just got back from Tulsa, OK and they have a new place there called the Cigar Box. Great humidor and really packed bar/lounge in the back with full bar, leather seats and plasma's all over the walls. Nice time.

Not sure, but I remember reading somewhere that they were having problems with the building management and other tenants a while ago.

Iwan Ries was where I smoked when I was there last month. Otherwise it was when I was walking around Mag Mile.

This statement from their website leads me to believe they are still good. They had an Ashton in-store tasting 3 days ago. :)
