So F-ing Angry.humidor Ruined

Watching this series of threads has been like trying to reason with my 19 year old son after his first year at college:

"Dad, I was thinking about doing {A}..."
"Well, it might be better if you do {B} instead, and here's why..."
Gives me a blank look.
Does {A}.
Screws it up.
Gets pissed.
Rants and raves and kicks the dog.
Expects sympathy.
Gets none.
"Dad, I was thinking about doing {A1}..."
Repeat cycle.

Now I don't care who you are.....That's funny!!!!:r:r

Not sure what to say, and don't have any history on this person (didn't click any links).

When I got my new humi recently (and others I have purchased), I used Boveda seasoning packs. Toss 'em in and wait 10 days. Worked for me. For maintaining humidity, I have sworn by Boveda packs. There are different humidities available. I've used 69% for all of mine. My humidors hold the humidity well, and I don't have to fuss with rewetting anything or refilling a humidifier.

As for the cigars, they are replacable. Unless it was something that a deceased relative gave you, I wouldn't worry about it. JMO

OMG our children were seperated at birth! because I'm a giver you can take em both.

When they finally get around to doing {B}, they look at you and say why didn't you tell before and make me do it.
Been there done that.

The main thing is that you will live and (hopefully) learn from this particular experience now (go with beads period...).

Now, regarding any frustration that still may be pending: I find a short walk to the driving range with my 'driver' really helps to smooth things out mentally. Nothing like driving a bucket of balls down range you know? :ss

Finally does {B}, and says "Well, I had to learn from my own mistakes."
I try not to say "I told you so", but I could.
Not that I never did stuff like that.
What's in the solution, anyway. I might just dry them out and smoke the Cohibas if they are not exploded.

Thanks for the offer :tu, but I have two other teenagers following my oldest and if they don't wise-up real soon I swear you'll see them posted-up in a WTS thread.

:mad:I come back from university to check on my humidor.I read the hygromter which is on the outside and it reads 70%.Great i think. Then i open the dam thing to find some one in my house has messed around with it and that the shotglass full of soloution has spilled everywhere. The hummidifer and also fell of and leaked all over everything.I now have one big stain on the bottom of my humidor and 4 cohiba cigars covered in f**king soloution.

No one has admitted to touching it but i know someone have as it had slightly moved when i got back.

Does anyone els on here ever feel like saying to a member of there family "dont f**k around with other peoples stuff"

:mad::mad:

Yet another reason I will heed the wise words of the Gorillas and go straight to the jumbo coolerdor with beads.

And to think before finding CS I was contemplating a Thompson-box-o-dog-rockets-combo just to get a humi.

Simple solution..... keep that humi full of cigars and you'll never see the stain, I cant remember the last time I saw the bottom of my humidors :)

I'm sure the loss of a few cigars is disapointing, but really in the big picture of things, it's not that bad. It just sucks right now.

:tpd: I would let the cigars sit awhile unless totally ruined and smoke them eventually. If you smoke them and they taste like crap, well chuck it and pull out something different.
If nothing else you learned not to ever put cigars in your humidor until fully seasoned.
