Some special advice needed.

Horny for Zorny
I need a little help from the brothers on something special to me.
As some of you know my father isn't in the best of health. He wasn't able to make it up to our house this year for the holidays to see his grand daughters because of it.

Anyway, I've decided to pack up the wife and kids and do a road trip to Florida to suprise the old man on his birthday. I need a very special smoke to share with him. Something great ,that if it's last smoke I get to share with him, it'll be one that I was proud of. I'm still a noob here and would like some advice of the brothers.

I'm heading to the B&M tomorrow to look for something. I need the best smoke you can think of. I don't care about brand names, or fancy tubes. I want something that just makes you go WOW! That was a smoke!

... here's the kicker, it has to be something I can pick up locally and a nicely stocked B&M might carry.

Any and all help is most welcome.

Thanks,
Tim

I'm pretty sure you couldn't go wrong with a Padron 64. Very consistent, delicious, and well constructed.

There might be a very small percentage of people that don't like this smoke, but overall, a well thought of smoke.

I will jump in first and then let those with more experience help you more.

There are a couple factors here, first, I wish you the best of luck on this trip, as we get to a certain age we learn to really appreciate our folks as you never know when the last time you will see them is, so good for you!

If he is not doing well as you posted before take into account this, maybe he cant smoke something too strong.

Also, he would probably really like something that reminds him of his youth or when he started smoking, maybe an Edge or Olde World from RP?

Just my :2 and safe travels, let us know how it goes!

Padron Anni or RP Olde World would be top of my list... Also, maybe a local MD BOTL would be able to help you out with some rarer stuff... :ss

You can't go wrong with a Padron Anni, be it 64 or 26. Like mentioned above, they may be a little strong depending on the nature of his health; but these are very well made cigars and I'm sure you won't be dissappointed with the cigar.
Sorry about hearing this; prayer's go out to your father, and your family.

I'd be glad to send you a couple nice cigars to take if you'll PM your addy...

Very nice! :tu

Good luck to you and your old man. I'm sure he's gonna be excited to see everyone.

If it were me, I'd choose an Oliva V. They're a very smooth smoke and the different sizes and shapes they offer are great for anyone.

Partagas 160. I hope it is a great time that you get to share with your dad.

Woogie

:tu There ya go. I will send up some prayers that it will be the best of smokes for you both, and for you and your dad. Have safe, fun travels, and an awesome time with your dad and the family.

Blessings!:tu

Thanks everyone, this really means alot.

Tri-Sheild, extra thanks goes out to you.:tu It's brothers like this, that make this place special.

Looks like the Pardon's are winning. I'll call the shop tomorrow and see if they have any. I'll post a few pic's of the family smoke when I get back. And... I'll make sure he has his pant's on. (sorry, private joke... )

Another option, if you can find them are the padron 80th anni's... I haven't had one but my local shop owner LOVES them.

Ha! If you knew this old coot, you wouldn't have posted that. Remember the old Popeye cartoon, when he took a bite out of an I-beam and spit out nails? That pretty much sums up my dad.

He was a war photographer in Vietnam and if you ever heard his stories about people shooting at him while he was taking a picture of them, you would laugh your a$$ off. I need to get a video of him and post it on youtube.
