Spidy Sense was tingling...

I wish I had not seen this. I have a few of these in the humi and now I will think of this every time I smoke them. Oh well, I am sure it won't stop me from puffing away.

That's a shame.

What's going on with Padilla these days? So much bad press. They used to have one of *the* best lines out there with the old school Maduro, Habano, Hybrid, and the additions of the 8&11, 32 Signature, 48, 68.

Now?

Adios to Pepin (big deal? Pepin's over saturated like Ben Stiller anyhoo and Pepin was one of the best almost-knowns directly before the partnership, ready to emerge big IMHO) Thrown under the bus by Holts, the second release of the OneTimeOnly Obsidian (that I believe is close to the same blend as the first but the ligero wrappers are clearly inferior in that they need 6-12 months in my experience to be smokable)...

and now this thread

Let me tell you folks, Ernesto Padilla knows a thing or two about producing top quality smokeables, and I mean TOP QUALITY, but it looks like either greed or a bad marketing man is chewing him in his butt right now.

then there's this silk laden cigar

good luck Ernesto, bring us the good shit please

send a letter or an email to Padilla with those photo's included or attached. They can take measures to prevent this from happening again, and you might get your cigar replaced.

One possibility to consider came to me after doing some Google work. I wonder if that floss could be the remains of a cocoon from the beetle pupal phase. I was able to confirm that this species of beetle does spin a cocoon. Something to think about and possibly take protective action with your cigar stock.

:tpd: I thought the same thing.

And if that's what it is, it wouldn't seem to be isolated as a Padilla problem. Could have just as easily been a Pepin, Padron, or Patel, right?

Jeepers, that is nasty. Most of my cigars are enjoyed at night on the patio, and now I'm wondering what I never saw. *retch*
