Stinky or CAO Cubist?

I'm going to pick up the JoeCigar deal of the day so I'll have free shipping on the cubist ashtray right? So I'm thinking its a great time to pick one up, but I've always liked the way the stinky looks and how big it is. What do you guys think? Currently I don't even own an ashtray, I just use the yard :tu.
 
I've never herfed and tend to smoke alone, unless my Dad comes over for a bbq. Though the stinky has a look about it that would go well outdoors. especially if I put it on the cement :D.
 
This is from someone who was just like you, always used the yard, and rested my burning smoke on the palio. However, after the wife graciously payed for my box of 601 Oscuro Troncos and many other smokes at a local B&M(B day haul) , she PUSHED me to get the Stinky. I say pushed, because I always figured I didn't need one, and hell, thats more money she could drop on smokes for me, right? Well, I was wrong, and when I put that Stinky out on the back deck table and lit the tiki torches, it all came together. It looked so nice, and its def. functional. The stirrups are the best part, and the thing is deep.

Rambling, yeah I am, but it really is an awesome ash tray. Get the Stinky.
 
Does the stinky hold up fairly well to abuse? I have no doubt it will be dropped and kicked sometime especially with a couple dogs running the backyard. Since I just destroyed my Xikar by dropping it, I figure I should get something sturdy.

This is coming from someone whos used both the stinky and the cubist.

They both are great ashtrays, both have their ups and downs but i would suggest going with the cubist. While the stinky is nice and has some good aspects, large volume, weatherproof, light weight, "low" cost, it also has a few low points. Since the resting "fingers" for the cigars are a smaller size and not too long. I have on multiple times knocked a cigar into the hole (as ill put it) to where its no longer retrievable to smoke. (Really have you tried to smoke an ash covered stogie.) Also i have seen cases where the tabs have snapped off and needed to be "repaired". While i see the cubist as a great ashtray all around. It is weatherproof and just looks nice overall. The "fingers" to hold your cigars are really the "wall" to the next finger, thus making any size and any length stogie resting easily. Also the volume for ash and trash is also quite large. Right now too it is on sale for about 40% of regular cost at $50. The only downside i see to it is the weight at 5+ pounds its a little on the bulky side if you were to try and bring it with you somewheres. Just my thoughts.

STINKY - plus it doubles as a tin foil hat if your in a pinch.

It also makes the neighbours talk when i go in to the yard and ask my girl if she "has seen my stinky today".
 
Dude...go CUBIST...I have my reasons that do not involve the need for public sharing...but I suggest the CAO CUBIST...it is a HELL of a lot more attractive, plus, it probably could hold up to abuse as well as the Stinky as long as you do not have a tendency to throw things against cement...Besides, you can make a Stinky out of a bucket, two pop cans and a bit of two-sided tape for about $5.00...
 
You guys are hilarious, I'll have to put more thought into this than I had expected! Eventually I'm sure I will end up with both, but until that point I'll have to make a tough decision.
