Taboo Cameroon

Maturing Primate
So i had a rough day at work yesterday, I'm and RA at the college I attend, and the Freshman men i oversee were particularly troublesome yesterday afternoon.

So i lit up a Taboo Cameroon that I've had in my humi for about 3 weeks, i ordered it from Rob.

I lit it up, while sitting outside and helping a friend with a business project.

The first think i noticed was that this was very much unlike most Cameroon raps i have experienced in the past. I am very much a fan of the Oliva G Cameroon, and really hoped for something similar. Taboo, however, gave me an incredible experience. For the first little bit, nothing seemed out of the ordinary, save the beautiful ash that held on over 2 inches. As i got into this beauty, however, i got what can only be described as all the sweetness of an Oliva G Cameroon with a power and spice that was unbelievable. This cigar was truly one of the most complex smokes I've ever had. If you've had an Excalibur 1066, then that is probably similar in spice.

Yet this guy was Sweet, and Spicy!!! Medium Bodied, but just jam packed full of tabacco flavor!!! Not bitter, harsh, or hot in any way!!!

I can't say enough how I enjoyed this cigar. I will be ordering more very soon!!! And you should too, if you like Cameroon!!!

Burn: 8/10 (Minor issues. It was very windy, though)
Const. 9/10 (a little veiny)
Flavor 11/10 (I'm speechless)

Thanks Rob, for this amazing experience!!!

I've been eying these for my first Taboo order. I'll have to pull the trigger sooner than later. Thanks for the review.

hmmmm I got a few in the humi but haven't tried them yet.

Looks like I found my smoke for tonight. :)

Thanks for the review. I am not a fan of the Cameroon wrapper myself, but this is better than most Cams that I have tried.
This blend is made for us by Oliva and they have done an excellent job with quality and service to us. Great folks for me to deal with. This is why we support them. Thanks again for trying this blend.

Hello all:
I am a Cameroon wrapper fan also. If you would have to make a comparison and smoking two cigars side by side, how would your review, rating, taste, strength, flavor preference show between Rob's Cameroon and A.F Hemingway, Fuente Don Carlos, and Torano 1916's ?

Thank you in advance,

P.S: The reason I ask for your opinion is to see if I should stock up on Rob's Cameroon. I had a Fuente Hemingway Classic Cameroon during this last weekend and it was enjoyable but not stellar. On a scale 0 -10 score, the Hemingway Classic that I had would be a 7.5 (yes, I know... Why the stingy score ? I am selective in my cigar smoking preference...) :w

Why do you not like the Cameroon wrappers? I am just curious to hear your response as I am a noob trying different cigars right now and I had an Oliva G robusto on a drive out of town yesterday and thought it was okay...nothing that stood out to me, but it was fresh from the B&M and not sure if that matters or not. I had a CAO Cameroon robusto prior to that and thought it was better.

Just curious...

Although Cameroon wrappers are popular, It's just personal taste. I prefer maduro and Connecticuts with lots of flavor. Conn in the mornings and maduros in the afternoon and evening. The Twist is good most anytime. It looks like I will be smoking a lot of the new LR's (my #1 current smoke), SFO (when we get more) and the Twist.

You may or may not be a cam smoker. Let me know the best cigar you have ever smoked and I can tell you which Taboo you may like. They are all very different.

I smoked the Cameroon Robusto tonight and it was not bad. Not as good as my favorite CAO Cam but it was nice having a little more to it with the Taboo Cammy.

It did have a bit more spice and toast then a normal cammy. Very easy to smoke, just the right strength too.
