Taboo Twist...has anyone else noticed this?

I just finished my first Taboo Twist (and my first barberpole) and the flavors were good and creamy. I noticed something interesting with the ash. It was two different colors as well. The maduro lined up with a dark grey ash and the Connecticut lined up with a white ash. Anyone else notice this? Have you seen it in other barberpoles? Just thought it was interesting and figured I'd see if anyone else noticed.
 
hmmm...that's pretty cool, I ordered 2 twists last week and im pretty excited to smoke them as well. I have to say their customer service is amazing, literally 2 minutes after ordering them they called me to confirm my order and it was here 2 days later. Needless to say depending on how they taste i will probably order from Taboo again.


PS this is my first post on CS been lurking for a while and i love this site and the comradery present here.

Just did,:tu But to get this thread back on track, how long do you guys recommend the Twists sit the in the humidor before smoking?

The longer the better. They (taboo) are a small company in comparison to the larger ones. Orders are filled on a smaller run basis the way I understand it. I'm sure Rob cant afford to sit on a million cigars for a year or 2 to rest so they are fresher than some. Every one I have smoked that has sat longer, gets better. If I'm wrong on any of the above someone will correct me. Bottom line. they are better with some rest.

Nice, I Was thinking about giving 'em 2 weeks (They look sooooo Tasty!), but after reading your post I'll give em a month or so.
 
I've noticed this as well and I have to say it's pretty damned cool. Next time you smoke a Padron 1926, take a close look at that ash. All the oils combusting creates these tiny dots on the ash.
 
That's like ordering 2 french fries from McDonald's.... You'll get a taste, but your not gonna be happy as you didn't order more.

I could be completely wrong on this but I'm pretty sure those dots on the ash have to do with the toothiness of the wrapper, not the oils. Toothiness is caused by an over abundance of some chemical in the soil where the baccy grows (I think its nitrogen) which then causes extra nitrogen in the plant. So that leaves behind those little dots on the ash as by product of the burn.

I'm sure about the toothiness, but not sure about what the checmical is that toothiness represents. The dots on the ash thing is guesswork because I see that no only on Padrons but on every toothy cigar I smoke.

haha...I know, but my little humidor could barely fit the two i ordered its already chock full :pp
