Taking a few sticks to Vegas, How to store?

Hello my fellow BOTL!!! I have not posted here in a while but I still have my interest in cigars. Since my last pos, I still have about 60 or so ISOM's (some are definately fugazzi others not) and they have all been resting in my humi for a little more than a year now. I actually just finished a Trinidad Reyes and after they have sat in there for a while I can really say that those are some mighty fine cigars!! I got these from a different source than the other fugazzi's and also purchased a 5 pack of Cohiba Siglo VI's and in my newbie opinion those were the smoothest best tasting cigars I have ever had.

Well anyways, here is my question. I will be going to vegas for the weekend pretty soon and I want to take a few sticks with me. I do not know what would be the best way to transport these and still keep them fresh. I don't have any travel humidors or anything like that. Is there anything I can use to help keep them fresh until I smoke them?? Please help me out here fellas!! thanks in advance for your opinions.

Ziplock bag or Tupperware with a humi pack in it might work . If you dont have a humi pack, check your B&M most Fuente boxes have them . or Buy a Humi BAG at the B&M .

+1 on the humi pack.

If you can't find one put the cigars in an open zip lock bag, then place this bag in another larger zip lock with a slightly damp (not wet) cotton ball or cloth. Seal only the outer bag, and viola, you just made a humi pack. For more security you can place the bag in a cigar box to prevent your smokes from getting crushed.

Enjoy your trip. :tu

PS...cigar prices in Vegas are ridiculously high, so beware.

Yup, the ziploc bag will do just fine for a long weekend trip.
If you're concerned about possible crushing, then get a plastic storage container in rectangular shape (cheap at a supermarket) & put the ziploc bag in it. You can then put the moist cotton ball or paper towel in the bottom of the plastic container instead of a second ziploc.

Have a great trip!

PM me for my address.

Once you have that, overnight the sticks to me. On receipt, I will carefully package most of your ISOMS, individually and hermetically sealled in hi-tech, moisture and air proof plastic storage bags.

Under these conditions, your cigars will maintain their current humidity level for up to 3 months.

If you include your address, I will probably return the sticks to you within a few days.

Glad to help!

Otterbox! Cigarmony has good prices or you can check out CBid for a possible deal... :ss

A weekend .

You can use a tupperware or plastic bag.

No need for humidification its to short of time.

I've been using my Herf a dor, they have a small humi device inside. Plus they are crushproof. I also have a 10ct cedar lined box, it worked out perfect as well.

:tu Totally agree. In less your cigars are already dried out, there's no reason to worry about their RH if you keep them in a ziplock for just a day or two.

Buy yourself an Otterbox.
:tu

Peter, this is a must!:tpd:

Now, I was just in Vegas several days ago. Go to Ceasars Palace to Casa Fuente as mentioned in this thread. I smoked a Forbidden and it was great, just a bit pricey. Then again you can only get them at a AF Event or store, and occassionally at a few select B&Ms across the country. The God of Fires were good, but to impressive. I still like the Anejo line better IMHO. However, they had a box of Casa Fuente house brand churchills that had a ton of plume and that particular smoke was about $23 and it blew everything and anything in the store. The employees are not too knowlegable on cigars and I educated them on what the difference was between mold and plume. Not to mention, the waitresses are smoking hot in semi-see-thru skirts and g-strings:tu

ziplock bag with a humi pouch is great i would also recomend tossing them in an empty cigar box for protection. Casa Fuente is a must visit i highly recomend picking up a few casa fuentes most people like the cg i prefer the torp just my .02

I just didn't get that much out of the Casa...it was fine but if i would have paid $10 online I would have been disappointed.

As for the waitresses - did you get served by Iris? What a little doll...well, not completely little:D

GREAT!! thanks for all the knowledgeable info guys. I never knew about that place in Ceasars Palace so I will definately be making a stop there. I think I will go with the ziplock bag and a cigar box to carry them around. I do like that otterbox though. Maybe that will be my next purchase, but I'd rather spend them on some stogies :ss

Thanks again for all the great info guys!!!

better win some at the tables from what i heard about Casa Fuente

I just came back from there from a two week stint for work. I'll be back there in about two weeks. There are a crapload of b&m's out there too. Henderson is choc full of them. Vegas is a great place to find opus x, a bit pricey but a nice selection everywhere.

Casa fuente is a must visit. Although, I didn't have any luck on the tables. Lots of convention people around with no experience. That's good for poker, but not for craps or blackjack.

Have a good trip and keep your smokes safe. There are still alot of smoke nazis running around the casino, but this time no one said crap to me or even gave me a dirty look. They just kept their distance, which was good IMHO.

The vegas hilton is a very cigar friendly spot. I go there on sundays for the sports book. Always fun.

Smoke Nazi's? Shoot, the very first thing I do when I go to vegas is get in a hotel and light up in the lobby!! It just feels good to do it since its against the law in California. So screw those smoke nazi's and their dirty looks, this is about the only place I can light up while being indoors.

thanks for the tips. Oh and I loooove it when there are conventions going on in Vegas. All the poker players think they are hot stuff and I just kill on the tourneys sometimes.

Except when you get the mom poker player who is just playing for fun then beats you with a 9 7 off suit while you have a q, and you hit a Q on the flop yet she pulls a set of nines!!! :c ok end rant.
